First time I fought a shark I lost. Went back at it with a sub and torpedoes and won.

Yeah if you can actually hit shit with torpedos…. It’s actually difficult. I was literally chasing a shark around last night in my sub trying to torpedo it, and no joke it was like it was dodging them. Eventually just got close enough to it to for sure hit it, and it blew the shark, my sub, and me up. Luckily it was *only* a 5 minute swim back to my body… lol

I noticed today that when a shark is near you get the "unfriendly" red marker in top right which you get for attacking animals, even before you see or attack the shark. Serves as a good warning.

My favorite is when you shoot the shark, it charges at you and just doesn't stop. It literally just homes in and bounces off any obstacle in its way until it gets you. 10/10 fun gameplay

Idk if this changed after the update, but I just shot a shark 8 times before it killed me. Got so many "projectile distance" invalids... smh. It still had 100 hp after the 8th shot.

How do you see so far underwater I have goggles on. I’m doing it during the day and I can’t see more than a couple feet in front of me. That just seems like a crazy distance to be able to see.

It’s the last achievement I need for Rust is “kill 3 sharks with a spear gun” I have killed probably 20 and still can’t get the achievement and can’t be bothered anymore cause I just can’t see anything when underwater

For anyone new it’s not worth killing sharks. You don’t get enough out of it and you can’t hit it out of range after the update.

Honestly, it's not worth killing the shark. Just go to a different dive site. They're too op even with multiple spearguns.

Question: Scientist AI does less damage to someone with a full prim kit like wolf headdress, wood armor, shit clothing, than someone wearing a hazmat suit. Does this damage reduction work the same when fighting sharks if wearing certain armor in addition to the required diving tank/flippers?

Sharks can still sense u if ur further than 10 meters. They don't need to see u

@@nekokiki4002 Did you check combat log? If your ping or the server is a little unstable then you can get a lot of invalids. Also because of underwater physics being new there's a lot of bugs around the code.

Why do i get so many invalids when hunting sharks? I shot a shark 5 times and three of the shots were invalid resulting in my death…

I said stay in the center of the circle that the shark travels. If your testing shows that staying 10m away along the circumference gets you killed, I would recommend sticking to what I suggested.
