USB Midi Interface (I enjoy the Scarlett 2i4)
2x Midi cables

(this works well with Mac, but PC users may experience issues. you will have to find a specific sysex transfer app. please let me know if you have troubles for refund)

Thanks for the tutorial it helped a lot! I got it to work with most patches, but for some reason there are some files that do not want to load into the Korg. Wonder if it's something I'm doing wrong or just bad files. Happens in the video with you as well.

Nice tutorial .. Do you use the microkorg mic or another dynamic mic for the vocoder ? i'm thinking of buying a Behringer xm8500 to enhance the vocoder .. is it worth upgrading the mic ?

justakaduppy good question! I use an SM 58 sometimes. Always good to build out your mic kit. I say it’s a good future purchase regardless!

Thanks for all the great MK vids. Did you have to do anything to get your focusrite to work with midi? I've got mine plugged in by Sysx Librarian never recognizes it, was there any additional settings or things you needed on the focusrite side of things before it worked? I've tried a cheap USB to midi devices and Sysx sees that but only sends data sometimes. I'm on a mac, fully up to date.

Just a head's up: some of the MIDI to USB cables in your linked Amazon list do not transfer sysex files (e.g. the FORE does not - it's written it in the fine print of the description but I missed it and bought it anyway - definitely doesn't work).

If helpful to anyone, the Midisport Uno M-Audio cable (~$30 on Amazon) finally worked for me (running Mac OS 10.14 on a retina 13" macbook pro - worked with both sysex librarian and the Mkorg sound editor).

Of you overwrite a patch do you lose the other patch

You can reload all original patches on the keyboard or reload a single patch on the keyboard (like a factory reset, or just reload a single patch). If you add a new patch to the keyboard and then put another new one in it's place, you will lose the first added patch.

See if the Sysex Librarian shows the synth it in the dropdown list first. You should be able to see me show that around 3:09. I have a gut that may not work, but there are very cheap USB Midi Interfaces. I'll link some good ones in the Description. Great question and thank you!

I just got a microkorg and I’m trying to input some patches I bought.. using this method, will I have to go through each patch individually in order to save to the microkorg? The patches I bought are like 128 presets, so this would be super time consuming to do 1 by 1.

Sorry, but this is the most chaotic video I've ever seen! Your explanations are so unstructured and you say a lot of useless stuff! How is a beginner supposed to understand any of this? In addition, you don't need such an expensive interface to connect the synth to a computer! A normal Midi USB interface for €20 is sufficient I really don't understand how your videos have such high ratings 🤔
