Hi Dipanshu, you pledge only G-Secs and use the margin for trading. There won't be any penalties.

However, as per exchange requirements, for overnight F&O positions if a minimum 50% margin is not maintained in cash or cash equivalents then an interest of 0.035% per day is applicable. Hi, 1. Yes, the collateral margin will be treated as cash component. 2. Yes, the margin can be used for trading both index as well as stock futures. 3 & 4. To buy options, you need to have cash balance in your account. Collateral margin cannot be used for buying options.

Hi Ramamoorthy, collateral margin cannot be used for equity delivery trades, for this you will need cash in your account. When you sell shares from holdings, even the LIQUIDCASE ETF, only 80% proceedes are credited to your account and same can be used for trading. Remaing 20% will show under the delivery margin field and will be availabe from the next trading day.

Hi Vikas, for open positions, you have to maintain miumum 50% margin in cash or cash equivelents and remaining 50% can come from non-cash collateral margin. If you are using more than 50% non-cash collateral margin, then inverest of 0.035% per day will be applicable.
