I show an easy and inexpensive way to remove grease and grime from a tractor. I am cleaning on old Ford 8N tractor. Who knows how old this grease may be.

I put that sh*t on everything!!! One use you missed was to find a leak in a tire....we use it for pressure testing our hydraulic tanks. Works better than anything else I've found.

I'll have to remember that it works good for finding a leak in a tire.

Roger that must be some really good stuff cleaned that old tractor right up. I was just noticing grease on the 5045e yesterday may have to get me some Super Clean. Take care brother.

Yes, it is. If I would have used a pressure washer, I may have not even needed to brush it. I chose to use a brush, because not everyone has a pressure washer. If you have light grease, you may want to reduce it or don't let it set too long. Have a good week!

I know I'm late to this party.. Good job! Looks nice! I just did my '41 we just bought.. I used Simple Green HD Cleaner.. and a pressure washer.. No scrubbing involved!

Great video roger! Love these types of videos. I usually use WD-40 in light grease as it’s safe on paint and really does well cleaning up after a grease job. I’ll have to check out this stuff you advertised here next time I have some real dry and thick grease and see how I like it 👍🏻 PS. Just make sure not to leave the degreaser sit too long on the paint before washing it off as it can remove some of the paint. We have a Commerical degreaser at work and I made that mistake on one of our zero turns and it left lighter colored streaks in the paint as it sat there a bit too long. Though with your application and rinsing process I don’t see an issue.
@TractorTech4 жыл бұрын
I use WD40 around the loader pins and also to remove the diesel soot from the loader. Yes, if it is left sitting too long it will dull paint. I discovered after cleaning this tractor that it has been painted at least 3 times. Lol, you can see each layer of paint in places.

Whats the next step before paint/primer? I have same tractor but about quarter inch of grease/dirt on it to remove. i'm scared that all the leaks will start up once the cakes are removed

Rick, it was way easier than degreaser's I have used in the past.

@@TractorTech I've gotten to the point where I use my pressure washer first but it often leaves a little grease behind. I then use a degreaser. I learned in the 1960s to clean everything before starting to do any opening up of an engine. Otherwise stuff falls in. Good Luck, Rick
@TractorTech3 жыл бұрын
@@richardross7219 Yeah, I know what you are talking about. My wood splitter makes a mess on itself when I drain the oil. I have used the pressure washer and degreaser after like you mentioned. I still have a residue and dust sticks to it. I used Super Clean on this area and the dust never came back, and the splitter has been used 12 hours since then.

I’ve got an awesome cb radio that has gunk and grease hardened on but the thing is you can tell the black paint and body’s is still in amazing condition. Anyone ever had a similar issue and how did you solve it? I’m obviously not going to use a metal bristle brush lol.

Great stuff Roger ! Appreciate you sharing with us !! I have heard oven cleaner does good on cleaning grease off . But I don't know if it works because I have never tried it ! Be safe my friend and God bless you and yours !!!!!! Eddy
@TractorTech4 жыл бұрын
We used to use oven cleaner to clean something like (inside)valve covers or an oil pan when replacing the engine with a reman engine. It worked okay but that was years ago on older engines. The oil was not as good back then and really sludged and got backed on hard. The problem with oven cleaner is that stuff will kill you if you breath the odor from it. I have a dirty oil pan. Maybe sometime I could do a super clean vs oven cleaner shoot out.

Poke a hole in a ziplock. Pull over the shifter and secure with tape. Will keep water out. But if you drain...doesn't matter
@TractorTech4 жыл бұрын
It is not the shifter. It is everything. We hooked a smoke machine to an 8n one time to see where the water was getting in. Smoke came out everywhere.
