Hi, nice video, you were right it is a lot of work. I did the drivers side on a 70 GMC cab. I turned off the lights last night and put a bright work light under the floor. I saw some pin holes where light could come through, I zapped them and ground them and zapped them and ground them. How to you finish off the butt welds to seal them up? I am thinking primer and primer and maybe seam sealer and then undercoating on the bottom. I think I got all the pin holes but I want it sealed up nice and tight. Thanks

My 66 C10 is solid for the most part but then there is a few pits that have gone all the way through. I se daylight. Should I tear this apart or treat the supports. They are also rock solid. I could tear the pan out and just do it but it looks very involved. I don’t own a welder but after watching you master this I feel like I want to do some. Maybe just the rockers. Love your videos.

It was so rusted I could not yell where the spot welds were, do you have a technique how to find them when they are terribly rusted and pitted?

In what way did water get into the cab to rust out your floors? How did you go about fixing the "leak"? My floors are somewhat rotten as well not sure how they get wet.
@grantslater2485 Жыл бұрын
Leaking from the heater core when they go bad its on that side of the cab
@Geoduck. Жыл бұрын
@@grantslater2485 Thanks I should have guessed that. I found out my issue is the caulking in the cowl vent is rotted and alowing water to seep into the cab.

So the only issue I seen is that you didn't replace the 16 gauge plate that's welded to the floor support the floor brace then that ties all those together and then the floor pan goes down over it

WD 40 is not a real penetrating oil it is nothing more than deodoried kerosine and it evaporates fairly quickly ,there will most certainly be nothing left behind after a month! You should get a real penetrating oil to do the lubricating of rusty bolts!
