toilet footage and even a buttcrack joke, while trying not to laugh. I have heard MEK, will restore faded plastic too, haven't had a chance to try it though
@pgmurray765 жыл бұрын
Its hard to spray the MEK evenly. You could pour it over a surface. It is more for bonding acrylic and polycarbonate. An all metal airbrush would work nicely - while wearing a respirator. I used bond battery packs using Resin Bond by Ventex. It is MEK essentially.

Cameron you are who I want to be when I grow up, even though I'm already grown up 😂 23. Everything you do is my dream, fixing my bike's giving them so much care and attention. Paying attention to every small detail and figuring out how you can make things better. I hope things work out for me as they seem to have for you

Love the vids I took you advice and got the free sample. It made my sons crf50 look amazing. If your on a budget use a tiny bit of boiled lin seed oil on an old rag. YOU WILL BE AMAZED what it does to old plastics. 👍

I have to play with the Cerakote Trimcoat a little bit. I believe the hydrophobic polymers may be super useful to coat a sanded yellowed car headlight. It may or may not bond nicely to smooth polycarbonate. Seems very clear too. I'll have to try on a spare headlight. I'll leave the wipe folded and use an edge like a brush. The polymers will wick out the edge like a permanent marker providing a nice level coat. Especially on a smooth surface. It would possibly be a better or similar value than the 3M Headlight Clearcoat ($5 for two saturated folded wipes). Cerakote Trimcoat package has ten wipes inside and is not at all expensive. I've successfully reused 3M product by using it and sealing immediately. To try it once won't hurt. Regardless, I need to protect my black plastic lower panels on my car. Especially after wiping them furiously with a cotton cloth and 91% isopropanol. Cerakote Trimcoat would put them over the top in color depth.

Woaa. That coating is definitely hydrophobic. The resting water in the toilet had like a 110 degree contact angle! (Yes. My eyeballs are calibrated tensiometers.) It is like the water is floating.

I always wax my sinks and faucets with car polish. It's like magic to clean them. I have waxed parts of a toilet too. I did the bowl where water constantly dripped. Cerakote Trimcoat will make any troublesome materials stay off the surface better than wax.

Nice Video! I apply an Auto, Boat, & RV ceramic coating to my 2014 kx250f's plastics, fork tubes, gas tank, outer engine components , rims, etc. The coating has preformed amazing over the last year that its been applied to my bike. It makes washing the bike very easy as well as retaining color and shine!

I'd like to see the Restoration Wizard Niemela do a plastic restoration video on the "retro-bright" job that restores a white plastic that has been badly faded to tan from years of oxidation and UV light. For instance an old bike's plastic coolant overflow tank, or bike plastic that used to be white but now it's become all yellowed and dingy.

Firstly the hard water issue... Invest in a good quality water softener.. We did and wow the difference is so good.. The cleaning time in the bathrooms is much reduced.. Your washing machine, dishwasher, hot water heater, kettle etc will last so much.. longer... Your fiancée will appreciate softer hair, softer clothes and better bubble baths.. Next the Cerakote trim coat... Quite expensive so will it really last? Wanting to do my Audi Allroad trim with this but just hesitating as to is it worth it?

Definitely seems best on black plastic but I don’t think that’s anything against the product. Just an inherent thing with black plastic. Is there anything you’d suggest doing with plastics that seem to have like “spiderwebbing” on the surface. It’s still strong just looks like it’s got cracks all over it.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer on the plastic. The heat will eventually bring out the oils in the plastic to come out and you will see it come back to how it was.

Don’t sand it….those stains on the old RM front number plate would effortlessly come off by using a couple Mr. Clean Erasers. Nothing works better. My 1989 CR80 was a roached basket case. All my plastics (which aren’t produced by Honda or aftermarket) came out looking brand new. I did a full nut n bolt restoration on it and it’s like the new 1989 dream bike I couldn’t stop looking at as an 11 year old at my local Honda dealership.
