How to easily transfer drawing to Canvas

Hey guys, I was recently working on a painting that is a gift for a friends wedding, so I thought it would be interesting to show you how I transfer a drawing onto the canvas. I hope you enjoy this video and that its helpful!

nisalenna - My understanding is that you seal your underdrawing with clear gesso, let it dry, then paint.

Thank you for an easy to follow method of transferring with out the use of carbon paper (those lines in carbon paper are to dark for my watercolor) Your explanation is easy to understand and the application process is perfect

Great stuff! One thing I don't get is whats the point? You could just draw straight onto the canvas. Unless you the image already on the tracing paper and then just go over it with a pen or pencil to transfer.

Do you have to erase the extra charcoal on the open space before painting because of smudging and/or accidentally mixing it with the paint or is it easy to just cover it by painting on top of it?

I think it's possible to paint on top of it without it showing but I wouldn't take any risks personally. It also depends on the type of paint you use. Just practice and see what you like better :)

I didn't notice any extra on the canvas but if you encounter some use a kneaded eraser (it's the stretchy kink usually grey in color~ comes in a small rectangle shape & it's inexpensive)
