That pump is exactly what I use for my engine oil filter housings on my 2000 MK4 Golf and 2004 B5.5 Passat 1.9 TDI's. Well worth doing as you get loads out. I need to do my output shaft seal on the passenger side on the Golf. 6 speed manual DRW super long ratio box. I have Sintafluid to put in it when I change that. Takes 2.3 litres apparently.

Yes those pumps as bargain and very useful. I have 3. One for dirty oil out, one for clean oil in, and one as aback up. You can do it 👍

chance of finding this video at the perfect time! I keep getting an oil pressure switch error light come up on my dash. Had the oil pressure switch swapped over but a couple months on the same light popped up. Now I assume its because the switch is getting all bunged up. VW did a DSG transmission fluid change at 50k, now at 67k I think im going to do what you have done here! All on my T6 T32 DSG, thanks for the video!

Thanks, there's a video of DSG oil change for the T5/6 on the channel. VW T5 T6 / AUDI 7 Speed DSG Gearbox OIL and filter change service kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZLSapyOZbZkes0 You can do it 👍

The reason you didn’t get the full amount of oil drained is because didn’t drain the mechatronics which has a separate plug on the side of the gearbox. You will drain around a litre more
@YoucandoitwithJules5 ай бұрын
Thanks, it depends what box it is some have some don't. The DQ500 box in the VW T5 have the separate drain plug but the Dq250 doesn't just has the casting there but not drilled. You can do it 👍

This procedure is not correct. The oil level must be checked when the transmission is at a certain temperature - it's no different from many other modern auto transmissions that don't have a dipstick. I suggest anyone doing the change themselves review a few more videos - there are plenty who highlight what is wrong here. One good thing he did was to suck out the dirty oil from the filter base, others don't bother.
@YoucandoitwithJules5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback . It's a normal gearbox with auto clutches. 5 -6 litres is fine. If you wish to go thru all the process you describe fine but you'll waste oil. When you undo the sump plug the plastic spacer has always worked it's way down as it's only plastic and doesn't stay tight up inside. This is why you get an excess when you first take the sump plug out on a change. They had to design the plastic spacer purely to allow you to fill the box and remove the filler adapter without having a full head of oil pouring out when you screw up the sump plug. You can do it 👍
@einfelder82625 ай бұрын
@@YoucandoitwithJules Half of this is rubbish. The plastic insert is threaded as you well know, so it does not "work it's way down". The insert allows excess oil, when the gearbox is at temperature, to flow out and that's how the level is set correctly. A bit splashes over due to normal vehicle operation.

Also should take 6ltrs maybe 7 (as per Etka) should have drained the mechatronic as said before at a specific temperature. So i wont be following this
@craigwebb40125 ай бұрын
It seems way too much gearbox fluid it should only be about 2.5-3 ltrs surely
@YoucandoitwithJules4 ай бұрын
Have you dealt with dsg gearboxes before ? They have oil pumps in the box to pump oil up to the megatronic and operate the clutch's. This all needs a constant supply of oil at pressure. Check up the specs with VW. Thats why they sell boxes of 6 litres of fluid. Hope this helps. You can do it 👍
@stevefairbanks8354 ай бұрын
the full qty on Etka is usually 7ltrs but mostly 6 does it, personally when I do my Audi I will drop the sump and change the strainer as well.
