This was by far the best video I've found on how to use fork and knife properly. I'm from the USA and lived in Europe for a year where they only use fork and knife. I was confused so many times, I would try to examine my friends hands when they ate to see how it was done but couldn't perfectly imitate. But with your video I sat down to eat a meal using your rules and it was effortless! I was like " finally someone answered my question!!" I didn't know whether to put my fork in left or right hand lol Thank you!!

You are a grown woman and you need someone to tell you how to use a fork? Are you serious? Don't make more of it than it is. You learn to eat at your parents table... Not hers. These are not table manners. What she is teaching is a performance, an exhibition, a contrived spectacle.

THE REASON WHY YOU PLACE FORK AND KNIFE CROSSED IN THE MIDDLE IS SO IT MEANS YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED YOUR MEAL. IF YOU ARE DONE, THEN YOU PUT BOTH FORK AND KNIFE TOGETHER AT ANGLE AS IF IT WAS 20 PAST 4 ON THE CLOCK. THOSE TWO WAYS ARE MESSAGES FOR THE WAITERS SO THEY KNOW IF THEY CAN TAKE YOR PLATE OR NOT.

Yeah that is a great tip, because otherwise you can come back to the table and your item is gone because they will assume you are done, it could also be assumed that you discreetly didn’t care for that particular dish so that’s a discreet way to just get out of having to eat it without any awkward fuss, so if you step away from the table without that indicator your item will probably be gone when you come back

The omelet would fall off. A fork is curved specifically for scooping softer objects up. It was not designed as a stabbing weapon unless it involves something like steak. Try eating rice and beans holding it upside down like that.

Don't ever cross your cutlery, place near each side of the food - knife to the right, fork to the left. Or informal, rest your hands with the cutlery coming into that position. UK. Also don't move the cutlery at all unless it is in the act of eating - you were moving yours as you spoke. Don't hold cutlery above the table or plate - rest them and keep your hands away except when cutting up food and putting it on the fork

Not really. 1. When you eat right, it shows. When you cut and eat with the wrong hands one can make out because the position of the hand is wrong. But when you are left handed automatically you will position your hands right. I'm trying to explain but failing :) Cut with left and eat with right. Anybody who sees you will be able to make out. Also confidence should come from knowing you are doing the right thing, not what others think
