What is 'chicken back', I've never heard of it? There is a lot of meat on the breast, but very little on the other side down its spine.

I make a salad dressing with good Olive oil and vinegars, it includes the zest and juice of a lemon. I also have a tumeric drink that I add butter to ( I drink think when I am especially inflamed) and I take CLO twice a day. I can feel the benefits in my eyes and it improves fatigue levels...but my weight still varies. Finding out what works for the individual is a life long quest methinks. Thanks for sharing your wisdom. 🎉

I'd have to go through them all to see where I said that, but I'm sure it was one where I was talking about the potential for blood sugar to rise if we dont eat enough fat, and taking protein powders instead of natural, fatty protein (eggs, fish, meat etc) means "more protein, less fat" and in the absence of carbs and fat, the body goes into "starvation" energy mode and breaks amino acids (protein) down for energy by turning it into ... guess what? Glucose! Happens in the liver, the process is called "gluconeogenesis". Then you're potentially back where you started, burning sugars again.

pork belly and pork knuckles with thick layers of fat, roasted till the skin is crispy. leaner meats - always with a teaspoon of butter or fat with every bite. ground beef - cooked with a load of fat mixed in and then eating the mix. i came to hate lean meats. they suck at sliding down the hatch 🙂

He forgot avocado as a vegetable-based fat. Add to any salads - even add to meat dishes for add'l fat. Also, nothing wrong with adding a half stick of butter as a side with any steak that isn't quite up to snuff from a fat/marbling standpoint.

Is Collagen powder supplement considered a protein powder?
@shapefixer2 ай бұрын
Yes it would be, excellent point; so use it as a supplement, and don't use it as a "replacement" for the natural, fatty proteins you will get from eggs, oily fish, and red meat. It would be unwise to use your collagen supplement as a "meal" the way body builders do with protein powders.

That could be tough... how about fish? Sardines are probably the ultimate "health bomb superfood"! Lots of Omega-3 oils, lots of collagen...

@shapefixer ... and fish. I live 150km inland, in a rural area, and fresh (not frozen) fish isn't really available and im not keen on strong tasting canned fish. I can only eat sardines on buttered toast so that's out. I've always liked the protein foods but I just can't stuff myself with them. They are so satiating that have to stop after 4 or so bites, and don't get hungry again for many hours, so I end up undereating. 🫤

The sugar, every time. The glucose in the blood spikes your insulin, which is catually a "fat storage" hormone, and blocks fat burning. That is why you will never lose body fat if you continue to eat carbs - even if you "count calories".

@@shapefixer Thank you Andrew for your reply. It's getting more and more clear to me. The next part for me will be to get a list of what is good to eat and merge it into my life. Personally I do not care so much what I am not allowed to eat. I want to see it positive: what can I eat and how to continue it. BTW: I already lost more than 20 Kilograms by intermediate fasting (19 hrs. fasting and 5 hrs. eating) but I need to do 20 Kg more. All information is helpful.
