The universe is really working in its funny way today, I'm sitting here putting off eating because of my normal nausea and I'm tired of my high metabolism making it impossible to get above 100 pounds so I decided to learn a new song in ASL and came to your channel, and here is this GEM! 💞 THANK YOU! Much love!!!

True. And eating regularly isn’t always about a weight change, it’s also about nourishing your body!

In terms of reversing nausea long enough for you to be able to eat, eating a pinch of salt or a bit of lemon juice can make the nausea go away long enough to shove food down your throat so your body can turn off the “nauseous bc I didn’t eat, cant eat bc im nauseous” cycle. Ive used the salt method many times before and i can vouch that it’ll work for A LEAST long enough to eat several spoons worth of food. I think it has something to do with either your body not being able to be nauseous and salivate at the same time or stimulating your taste buds. All I know is that it works for me, and from what I’ve been told in the past, for others as well. Additionally, electing to eat a “comfort food” or something you don’t get tired of eating, even if it’s junk food, is better than eating nothing. If the alternative to eating junk food is to eat nothing, there’s no shame in eating junk food. Please try to eat healthy though. Ive heard a few accounts of people claiming their appetites improved with taking probiotics regularly. I haven’t been able to test this one myself so I don’t know if it works for sure, but it would make sense that messing with your gut bacteria would affect your eating habits. That’s all of the “tips” ive heard

This is not really my advice this actually came from a friend, but I thought it was pretty cool, so I wanted to share. My friend said that it could sometimes help make the food more interesting by turning the food into something else kind of like “ arts and crafts”. So the food could maybe be little more desirable to eat.

I used to take that. I'm on something else but it hasn't been helping as much. I do know that it really does ruin your appetite. I often skip lunch or forget breakfast or even don't finish my dinner. I'm sorry your going through that too :(

"But you're not tiny" And you're one of the reasons I denied I had an eating disorder for 4 months, then I 'recovered', and then relapsed and forced myself to believe it wasn't real. I eat, so I can't be anorexic- except I do unhealthy behaviours (I won't say what because those can be triggering to others with an ED) and I constantly think about it. I feel like I'm drowning

Snacks are easier to eat than a meal. So eat a collection of healthy high protein snacks AS a meal. I base a lot of my lunches/dinners on the Starbucks protein boxes.

I had seen a video of yours and decided to check out your channel. I love that you're all about mental health. And I loveee that you made a video on this. Personallyl, the cause of me not wanting to eat is the medication I take. If I get too underweight, my doctor could take me off that medication but that medication is for ADHD and helps me focus. So obviously not a good thing. I didn't know others struggled to eat because of anxiety though. I'm sorry to anyone who is suffering because of that. I also don't eat as much because there's not much that sounds good to me. Maybe that's the meds affecting my appetite so nothing sounds good because I don't want to eat? Could you possibly do another video on this addressing the people who struggle to eat because of medication? I know it's in the same boat as this but maybe it could help even more for people like me :) Edit: for those who need more protein and need to gain some weight, I've found out that there's weight gain powders at stores like GNC, a natural grocers, etc. I drink one when I can and since it's kinda filling, I drink it as say a snack or as lunch since I often skip lunch.

Decreased appetite can be a hard symptom to manage when it’s due to a medication! Sorry to hear you’re struggling with that. I don’t know that I have any additional tips I would give.. but if I do, I’ll make another video. Thanks for checking out my channel!

Thank you for the video. I find that the confinement from Covid had severely curtailed my appetite. In addition, I am now on a new thyroid medication where I cannot have any minerals for at least 4 hours after taking the pill, which really limits my options. At least there's toast and jam!

Eat The Few Healthy Things that actually appeal to you to eat, like Whole Grain or Gluten-Free Macaroni & Cheese & if you can stomach it add veggies into it like Broccoli or Cauliflower or Steamed Carrot Chips, they can even be Frozen, Microwaveable Veggies, I say Gluten-Free because My Mom's an RN & said it's better for people that have Type 2 Diabetes or used to have Type 2 Diabetes to eat because it doesn't have Flour in it, also you could try Mashed Potatoes with The Skin in them or Mashed Cauliflower or Mashed Broccoli & Cheese or Mashed Sweet Potato, Veggie Tots, Green Giant Makes them or Sweet Potato Fries!
