First of all. The colors are POPPIN and I'm gonna need you to show us how to color grade like that. Second, thanks for actually jumping straight into the tutorial. Will be coming back to this whenever I get back to a squarespace site. Lastly, the editing is 👌🏼

ah thank you for saying all of this! you know what's funny I actually didn't color grade at all this video ! I think it might be the first video that I didn't try to color grade 😅 so that's good feedback for me, maybe I don't need to put so much effort into color grading after all because it turns out better when I don't haha

I really like your style of teaching. Most KZbins for learning Squarespace are just too fast. They talk fast and move fast, I think it must be because it’s routine for them. So thank you for this one. I’m going to subscribe.
@NZHeike2 ай бұрын
Totally agree. Most are way too fast, especially when you are not an English native speaker.

@@jenwebbcreates I’m still stuck with how to keep the pages of my existing website while adding a new front to it. I don’t want to deactivate those links to any of it. I just want them to be secondary. I want a new face with my new art but keep the existing website with my older art still being available to see.

PS I have a Squarespace website that I created maybe 7 years ago. I’ve forgotten everything. I’m wondering if it’s possible to put my existing website in back pages? I want to focus on new art and create a fresh look, and add almost a new website on top of it. I don’t want to get rid of the first one. Ohh I must be on the old version! Oh dear.
@jenwebbcreates2 ай бұрын
yes you can essentially "archive" the old pages by just dragging those pages out of the main navigation, removing any links to them, and creating brand new pages. you could even go into the page settings and disable the page (after they are moved out of the main navigation) to make sure nobody accidentally stumbles on them
@KathysartАй бұрын
@ wait. What? The thing is, I don’t want to deactivate those links. If that’s the case, the only way I can keep them, I’ll need to create a whole new website for my new stuff. This is kind of a bummer. There must be a way to keep them but create new pages as well. Hummm.
@jenwebbcreatesАй бұрын
@@Kathysart sorry I think I misunderstood what you were wanting. You can definitely keep all your old pages and just create new pages too. Is the issue that you want to upgrade your site to the newer version of Squarespace (7.1) but also want to keep the old pages that are the older version (7.0)? If so you can follow this article on how to upgrade to the newer version: support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038270572-Moving-from-Squarespace-version-7-0-to-version-7-1 But you don't have to upgrade to 7.1, you can just keep the version you have now and add new pages to it.

I wish you can do a video on version 7.0 to 7.1, I'm scare of touching developer mode and losing stuff even though is backed up on Github, help lol.

i dont understand the trail thing like how do i get this done without using a template that will ultimately expire its so frustrating.
@jenwebbcreates7 ай бұрын
they give you a 14 day free trial when you first create your website, basically to test out the platform and see if you'd want to make your website on squarespace. I don't think the expectation is that you have to complete the website within the trial period - when the trial expires, your website will still be there. You just have to either extend the trial, or start paying for it, in order to keep working on it. Once you start paying for it, you'll also be able to publish your website for the world to see. During the free trial, your site will still be private. To extend the trial, you can either contact squarespace support and request that they extend it (they'll also send you emails when your website is expiring asking if you need more time), or you can use the method I mentioned in the video which I think is more of a secret hack and might not work forever. I agree that it's frustrating to have to keep extending your trial, which is why I'd just start paying for it if you know you're definitely going to launch this website. sorry I should have explained this better in the video 😅

No, only on 7.1. I wish Squaredspace just a a update button and make it simple to transfer. I've been using 7.0 for for 5 years already and is so old. Hopefully Jen can make a video on it sometime in the future.

I have a 16-inch 2023 macbook pro with 32gb of memory and Apple M2 Max chip, I think it cost $3,500 when I bought it. which I know is quite pricey, but I expect this laptop to last me a longg time, which is why I splurge on getting the best specs possible.
