Just discovered your channel when searching for some more tips editing Aurora. Ended up subscribing as well as you have a good teaching style. I'm no newbie, but always looking to improve. Thanks for sharing this and looking forward to seeing more!

Hi, thanks for this great tutorial. One very stupid question...after all the edits, how do you save the final image. I know how silly I sound...but still can't seem to get to the final step, especially when using the masking function. Thanks

Lightroom automatically saves as you go along. No need to do anything special to save it!

Thanks Austin! Nice to see your workflow!! I learned a bit 😀 Why didn’t you use the standard vignette option? I know it’s not as adjustable as a mask but would it make a big difference? About the end result. For me it’s a bit over done and I like to see a bit of details in the foreground. Which seems to be a beautiful spot when you brightened it briefly. For me it’s more complete… But hey… you did actress job and how we edit is all personal 👍

I always like to make custom vignettes. Thanks for the feedback!

Great tips thanks. I like to increase the dehazing slider on my aurora photos to make the sky pop

Is it possible to brighten up an almost completely pinch black Aurora picture? And blurriness?

Definitely!

@@AustinJamesJackson and how do you do it because if I try editing it will turn like a lot of blurriness/bright

Liked and subscribed and the bell. Thank you for your posting this. If you were to suggest only 2-3 steps for someone who needs to use GIMP or darktable (zero way I can afford Adobe) what would you suggest? Minimal edits only, like top 2-3 things. I'm also completely new to this. Seriously I can rotate, crop and add text. That's about the extent of my skill.

I have never used either of those programs, so I'm not sure what they are capable of. Sorry about that!
