Hi thank you great video BUT, I have been using this for around 6 months but last week it's stopped working, I am just wondering if you know why, 😢 odd thing is my time line looks the same but opening it up and all 3 parts of my film is in one line across the time line, and not on top of each part 😀 hopefully you may no why thanks Steve 😀

I love the multicam editing. My last edits went much quicker. Ever since the last update (Ventura 13.3.1 (a) ) multicam on final cut pro is always lagging or skipping frames on play back in the time line when the viewer is on Angles. I'm saving to a Samsung T7 (2T) external drive and there is only thirty-some odd MB use on my MacBook pro. Any suggestions?

Well, that's better than what I've been doing, which is laying the clips one over the other, and syncing the audio by hand. Duh. ;-) Thanks!

GREAT video! Thank you so much! Quick question: when I create the multicam clip WITH A separate audio file as a camera angle, everything works great. But when I select the project, as if I am going to export it, and play it in the monitor, it does not recognize the separate audio file, but is playing on-board camera audio (which I do not want). How can I fix this? Thanks for any help!

In multi-cam editing have you had a clip go black or nothing on main screen but in the timeline it's fine. If so how does one fix that? If you can help that would be appreciated.

I am using 2 iPhones for by B and C roll, and my main camera is a Sony A7rv. The two iPhones have the same color profile but I need to match it as close as possible to my Sony. When should I color correct and or apply luts? Should I color correct and match each footage first, and then "multicam" it? And then apply the final lut on the multicam? Or color correct and color match each video, apply the lut, and then multicam it?

Hi ,appreciate the video. I don't understand the "naming camera" in this video. I only name the clip when using the multicam feature. And sound you can just drag in the timeline. I have made a couple of music videos but are not in ANY way expert :) but I think you should make a follow up video about proxy media when multicam editing. more then two clips and you average computer will burn :) thx

What if there are three cameras (A/B/C)? Camera A [two shot and both the interviewer & interviewee’s audio is fed into the main camera, Cam A], Camera B has internal audio-interviewer coverage, and Camera C has NO audio-interviewee coverage; However, there is a slate shown in all three shots simultaneously, so of course I can line them up myself manually. But, to save time, is there a way to sync the clip without sound with all the other clips with sound in a multi camera sequence or timeline edit workspace?

Question: I use a 360 camera and tried creating 2 separate views "cameras" from the 360 video plus another camera. I used 2 subprojects to edit the two "camera" views so I could use them in a master project. In both cases I had to export the videos from the two sub projects and add the rendered videos to the main project to use them. Is there a simpler way to do this in a multi-cam use case?

Great tutorial. I would prefer to soften the cuts with a short cross dissolve. The hard cuts are, well, just sort of hard. I've looked high and low and everywhere in between for information on this subject. I find absolutely nothing. Can you or anyone here help me learn to do some cross dissolve on a multicam clip? Is it even possible? If it's possible can a pre-set dissolve be easily applied to all cuts at once on the timeline? Thanks.
@olympiafridaysatthefirstco2531 Жыл бұрын
(Longish) Seems I worked out a “sort of” solution to the issue. Go to Final Cut Pro > Preferences > Edit to get the transition settings menu. In each box you can use the up/down arrows, though they jump in one second increments. To get more precise times, click on the box with the numbers and type in the desired duration of your dissolve. In my case I'm after a quarter of a second timing so I typed in 0.25. I set my desired time in both the crossfade and transition boxes. I really don't know the difference but at least one of the other gets the job done. Back to multi-cam editing. I make my angle cuts. To get that quarter second cross disolve on each, I click on the skinny little dotted line representing the cut to highlight it. Then type Command + T. The hard cut is now softened with my pre-set transition. No need to drag anything over from the transition menu (the one with the bow tie icon). I'm trying to stop after each cut and make the cross dissolve happen as I go. Fairly effective, if tedious. No magic “apply to all cuts” feature available. Yet. If y'all have any pull with the guys down in Cupertino, please put in a suggestion to include what would be a great little addition in the next Final Cut upgrade. Thanks. - p

Hi Jenn, great video as always. Question: is there an easy way to add drone footage to your multicam sequence? The drone records no audio, so I usually just stack it & line it up as best as possible...
@JennJagerPro Жыл бұрын
I think you're doing it the only way possible. One tip would be to have someone clap their hands in the drone shot and in range of the mic on another angle to help you sync it up.
