Pro hack ( lazy way ), make a new action by recording yourself while pressing the keys for new visible layer. Now all you have to do I click the action button you created.

It boils down to what type of person you are (keyboard or mouse). I only like one handed keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+c) otherwise, I try to find a different way.

Cool vid. By the way, putting the layers into a smart object means you keep the changes but the memory only uses that of a single layer. A nice way of saving memory.

What step do I use if CS6 doesn't have Camera Raw? You need to buy yourself an external hard drive to help your poor laptop.

I have a eHDD but I think it's too slow to edit from lol If you don't have camera raw then I'm not entirely sure. You can use unsharp masks and mask layers to sharpen the image, and use curves to reduce highlights, as well as the standard remove noise functions. But certainly camera raw makes it more straight forward
