Is it possible to turn down the sound effects that play when you charge your saber (the R2-D2 beep when you plug in a charger, and the "saber fully charged" message when you reach full charge)? On my Crimson Core baselit V2, both play at an obnoxiously loud volume, while on my Crimson Neocore (which I have to remove the pommel to charge), the fully charged message is surprisingly quiet, but the R2-D2 beep is even louder than it is on the Crimson Core V2, because the pommel isn't there to muffle it.

Yes… kind of. If you have the one with the SD card, you could get a free sound editing program and lower the db of the file itself. On two of my sabers I replaced the sounds entirely with custom ones.

Are you able to adjust the volume of individual sounds through the saber in some way? I just got a crimson core v2 to replace their original baselit core (I also have another company's saber with a near identical equivalent to the old baselit), and compared to those, the hum on the V2 is just too loud. It buries all the other sounds. Would be rad if there were a mixer, but if I had to go in and do it manually I still would. I'm hoping it isn't compressing everything to the same volume; wanted to see what you know about that. Thanks!

There isn’t a way to adjust the volume of individual sounds, only the max volume as a whole can be modified via the config, which I did lower significantly because I found it to be too loud as well. But in your case, you’ll either have to modify them individually or replace them with fonts that are more suited to your preferences.

I bought soundfonts to put on my Crimson Core Baselit V2 and my Dad's Crimson Neocore. The soundfonts worked perfectly on my Crimson Core Baselit V2 (and this tutorial, along with another one, were responsible for that), but on my Dad's Crimson Neocore, the speaker crackles whenever the blade moves (this doesn't happen on the preinstalled soundfonts). I installed the fonts the same way with both sabers, with the only obvious difference being that the config file was in a different place on the Crimson Neocore. Do you know what could cause the soundfont to crackle during movement?

For some reason, NeoCore’s process sounds different. While I initially used “CFX” fonts; I had an issue with speaker (it was a hardware issue, different from what you described) and one of the font makers enlightened me to subtle differences between the CFX and Proffie fonts in terms of db and hertz. I found that the Proffie fonts worked on both my NeoCore & my Baselit. While I’ve never experienced the issue like you describe, it sounds like what the font maker explained to me. I would contact them and see if they are willing to give you the alternative version without having to pay for it again. Unless the fonts came directly from Crimson Dawn, then I would contact them via live chat to see what’s up.

@Hightower1545 I tried converting the Proffie files, but that didn't work. Then I did some deep diving in Reddit, and discovered that my problem was also caused by the speaker; apparently, the speaker couldn't handle the font I was adding (this was confirmed when I added another one of the fonts that I wanted to put in my Dad's lightsaber, and that second font worked correctly). I'm already looking into replacement speakers, so that problem will be solved eventually. Thanks for the help; I wouldn't even have known that the speaker could be a problem if it wasn't for your comment.

My apologies for the delay, YT does not alert me to replies (and some comments). I upgraded my speaker from a merchant on Etsy. “The Saber Merchant” it’s a simple plug and play (at least mine was a plug in one). You will have to take out the screw on the core to access it, but it’s not complicated at all. Good luck! I’m glad I could help

Does kyberphonic files work on crimson dawn baselits?

I have no experience with them myself… however I have read others who used kyberphonic fonts on the Golden Harvest and Proffie sabers from Crimson Dawn. And I personally have Proffie formatted files on one of my sabers. Given these two pieces of information, I would say yes, they should work. Once again you will have to rename them to match the corresponding files you are replacing. And as always: make sure you have a backup!

Am I right in assuming that you could also delete sound fonts and sound effects off of the SD that you don't want to play or have to cycle through?

I have not attempted this, so I’m not sure if it would work. If I get a chance this weekend, I might attempt it with my newest addition. I would assume modifying the config file would also be needed as well. But it’s also possible that you could end up with “directory not found” errors when cycling. End of the day, make a backup of the entire card onto your computer or spare drive; and then test it. If it doesn’t work, just copy and paste the files/folders back on.

Update, my good sir! I went into the settings folder, into the config, scroll down to the bottom, and where you see “font1=(255,165,0),0,0,0,0,0,0,200,650” All the way to font46=…. Just delete the ones you don’t need. Like my Cal Kestis saber. I have 31 fonts from the 2 games on it. So I deleted font32= … through font46= … and now the saber will only cycle through the 31 fonts and even the app only shows 31! I left the folders on there in case I want to add more later. I can just put those codes back in. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!! BACK UP YOUR CONFIG FILE FIRST!!!!!!!!! But yes it does work you can reduce the amount of fonts if you like

Go into the Settings folder, then the Config file, scroll down to the bottom, and where you see “font1=(255,165,0),0,0,0,0,0,0,200,650” All the way to “font46=….” Just delete the ones you don’t need. Once I have made the changes it just reverts back to default when I put the micro usb back in the saber, not sure how to make it stick

@slamprill If you deleted those lines from the config, then it shouldn’t revert. The only reason for it to revert is the SD card isn’t being read and it’s using the default files on the board itself

@@Hightower1545 in the end I deleted the font files I didn't want and renamed the ones left (13, 14, 21, 29) to 1, 2, 3, 4. Then ammended the config file to only cycle fonts 1, 2, 3, 4 and this solved the issue. But your thank you for the video because this gave me everything I needed to feel confident editing it myself 👍

Nah, you’re just replacing the sound files. In most cases the text files are either extra info or incompatible with the software. Just the sound files and at worst, you may need to edit the config in the other folder but that’s about it.

I have a problem and I hope you know what I'm talking about because I can't find anywhere else in the internet that talks about this: I bought my SD card from Crimson Dawn. When I insert it into my baselit lightsaber and turn it on, the light automatically turns on. No sound or anything, just the light being turned on from green for a short moment before changing to cyan and staying that way. When I pressed the button to activate the blade, the color changes to white, and this color applies to all fonts, including my original 16 defaults. When I deactivated my blade, the light still remains on, but this time it turned green and remains that way from now on. Ever time I activated the blade, it turned white, and every time I deactivated it, it turned green. At the very least, the soundfonts are different and works as intended when turning on the blade. However, the color and effect remain the problem. All the fonts did not contain any effect from the blade except for their sound. As in, there are blaster, impact, lock-on, etc. sounds, but the light itself does not carry any effect, so no unique flashes. I'm starting to suspect the SD card is for pixel, as the Xeno Configuration app popped up the option for "Pixel/rgb transder to rgb/pixel (only for pixel saber with adapter) - Warning! Change firmware need to change blade", when before I inserted the SD card, that option was never there. Crimson Dawn did not state specifically what the SD card was intended for, as I have seen both this video and read the product page to get the idea that it could work for both baselit and pixel. If that is still the case, then can you explain what is wrong on my end and how I can fix this? Or is there a way to convert a pixel SD card to baselit SD card.

This is the longest comment I’ve ever had on my YT 😂 Okay seriously though, I’m not entirely sure what’s happening, but your theory is possible. If that’s the case, a simple swap of the config file should fix it, as the sound files are universal. However I would encourage you to bring this up in the Crimson Dawn Facebook group facebook.com/groups/crimsondawnsabers/ You may be able to source better input there. My experience with pixel sabers is very limited, so I can’t confirm if your theory is correct.

How do I know which sound font correlates with its respective number ? When you edited 39 which font was replaced?

Double click (play) the file named “font” and it plays the corresponding sound byte for that font. Edit: 39 was darksber btw
