Hey, thanks for watching! As some have already pointed out QIDI Slicer is based on Prusa Slicer, not Cura... Whoops! Should I add a Cura bit? Also, if any part of the tutorial leaves you with questions, feel free to ask here or on Discord :) Other notes: - When slicing, you may also turn off 'Detect narrow internal solid infill', 'Close small gaps', 'Ensure vertical shell thickness'... and basically anything that adds uncessecary infill. On every Fusion tutorial I notice, how much experience can improve the process. I use it sporadically for years now but never really learned all the tools properly. For the main and fuzzy shell I would've drawn circles with different radii on the ground. Your shell solution is much more elegant. Thanks for teaching :)

For more complex surfaces, my favorite method is to use the surface workspace. Apply a 0mm offset to the faces you want to make fuzzy. Then thicken the resulting face group to about 1mm. I then use that body as a modifier in Prusa/Orca/Bambu slicer with the fuzzy skin settings. Makes it easier if you change your mind about using fuzzy skin later in the project. I’ve used it on outer surfaces of grips that were designed to slide onto other parts without effecting the mating surfaces geometry.
@andrikurniawan5316 күн бұрын
Can u make video about it?, I just to dumb to understand
@neebick6 күн бұрын
@@andrikurniawan531I should have said surface tab but basically you use the offset tool to makes a copy of surfaces you want fuzzy. Then the thicken command makes that surface into a body. It’s very similar to extruding. You would export the bodies same as he showed. In the slicer you can make a body into a modifier by right clicking on it and using the context menu. Modifiers change the settings for the area they overlap. Finally set the fuzzy settings the same as he showed for the modifier.

Especially the old man's beard (skägglav) as they used to be and still are pretty rare. I have a tree I've stuck dozens to, I'm sure it's going to look amazing in like, a lifetime or so! Actually I have no idea if they'll survive, but hey at least I tried. Loving the prints, cool sponsorship! The fuzzy is a function in fusion? I wonder if you could mess with their algorithm to create other patterns than random noise and/or modify the randomness to create an area where the fuzzy is a gradient from smooth to spiky? Loved seeing the cutaway of the fuzzy, it's just a bunch of squiggles!

Great tutorials and ideas, as always!! Is there a advantage from the design point of view for making cylinders by revolution instead of extrusion? I have not yet learned CAD for real, just a few things to get me going and your designing process at 6:30 got me thinking
@make.anything5 күн бұрын
In this case extruding a circle would essentially have the same outcome, although with the revolve you can edit both the diameter and height within that sketch. I guess I did the revolve out of habit because it can be used to make more complex shapes as well... I like getting a lot of work done within a single sketch :)

I made simple one after you made short video. Thank you for this video. Now I could make more complex ones. Is it possible to "burn" fuzzy settings into geometry of model so that you can have STL with fuzzy geometry?
@make.anything6 күн бұрын
While there are some interesting textures you can bake into the model, fuzzy skin actually forces the printer to do some sharp and overlapping lines that the slicer would normally prevent, so I don't think it can be perfectly replicated... but it's an interesting idea to explore!

Maybe your centerline wasn't starting and ending at the top and bottom of Body 2? Also, the rectangle doesn't actually have to be centered, so maybe just do a rectangle contstrained to the top and bottom of the body.

@make.anything4 күн бұрын
Yes, debossing the 'background' to leave the floating shapes that will become fuzzy. I only deboss the outer body and depth is just through the entire part (hence leaving all the fuzzy parts separately).

I now that reviewing 3D printers isn't your stuff anymore and you just want to do projects now but I'm kinda disappointed in major 3D printing channels. None of you top guys doesn't speak about Bambu Lab scandal which looks to me like you are more interested in sponsor deals you get than well being of 3d printing community and 3d printing future.
@MarkusRessel7 күн бұрын
I get it, but IMHO there were more than enough posts and videos all over the internet to know about it. It wasn't even the first time bambu got into trouble. People will figure it out sooner or later. As an X1C owner myself it would be an understatement to say I am bummed about these developments, but I don't blame creators for... well... simply wanting to create, and stay out of "drama" topics, even if the drama is very much justified. Its important that voices are loud, but not every single one has to be involved. I for one have warned all of my friends about bambu labs and will never buy another printer from them. At the same time I still love the machine I have and hope that jailbreaks or even alternative boards will show up at some point.
@kamencic7 күн бұрын
@MarkusRessel I mostly agree with you. Yet I still think major 3D printing channels kinda failed us in a way. They are in position of great privilege but also great responsibility. And right now it looks like they are interesten in only one of those. With their influence it would be easier to convince Bambu Lab that their decisions need to be revoked asap. Louis Rossmann helped more than any of big 3d influencers and he even doesn't need to bother himself with it. It's not his field at all.
