@TheAquatramp I haven't tried it live yet, but I'd say so. I've tried it out in rehearsal, with other instruments playing, and it was fairly good. Thanks for asking!

That sounds better than the fishman under saddle piezo in my Gretsch Bobtail which just sounds like a typical quacky piezo and not at all dobro like.

Thanks, I'lll try this with my resonator, looks like a workable solution. P.S - does your sister know you wear her shorts?

Interesting method - I tried a clip mic on a woody acoustic but it lost something when I tried gigging it - it now has a Seymour Duncan Magmic. Still, this sounds better than any of those messy stick to the cone pickups available for resonators. While I contemplate how to get my reso louder, would you mind telling me what make the guitar in this vid is? It looks identical to mine - which has no identifying marks. The seller did state a make, but I'm curious....

Alex, thank you for commenting. It is (was) a no-name overseas product, labelled as "Harley Benton". This is the house brand of a music store in Germany called Thomann, where I bought it from. I said "was" because I sold it a few wears ago - something I now regret ...-. Cheers!

Great job! Can you explain how is the sound with distorsion, fuzz or overdrive?
@RaúlCabezalí10 жыл бұрын
Hi mashmer74, I tried it with an overdriven amp and the sound was pretty usable, but I didn't try it out with distortion or fuzz. Unfortunately, I don't own this guitar anymore so I can't tell you what it would sound like. Thanks for commenting

How is the adhesive putty holding up? Looks like it could dry out and lose adhesiveness. What is that putty called?
@RaúlCabezalí7 жыл бұрын
Hi P. Schouten, I don't own this instrument anymore, but I have a couple of banjos, both equipped with this same transducer. The putty holds up for years on end, no problem there. The putty is similar to "blue-tack", which you can find in any stationery.

Is the audio track during the video, of your resonator guitar acoustically, with this pickup alone, or a bit of both ? Thanks
@RaúlCabezalí9 жыл бұрын
snakehips81 Hi, it's the acoustic sound only. Thanks for asking!

Okay so what if you were ready to drill a hole? Would this be the type of thing you need or is this just a sort of, quick fix?
@RaúlCabezalí8 жыл бұрын
Paul, in that case I would have have installed a magnetic pickup - probably a "lipstick" single coil type - on the top just beneath the end of the fretboard. I'dd add tone and volume controls as well. Thanks for commenting!

@@RaúlCabezalí Hello. Thanks for the response. I know this is an older comment but now I'm thinking again about buying a reso guitar. Here's my issue. The guitar I like has a magnetic pickup but it doesn't have a piezo. The magnetic pickup, from what I understand, doesn't really capture the sound of the resonator. What I'd really like is something with both a magnetic pickup and a piezo and indeed many guitars have that. That way you can blend the two and get a sound that's somewhere in between. But if I buy a guitar that only has the magnetic pickup, can I install a piezo that will blend with the magnetic? Thanks if you respond again. If not, that's okay too. Lol. :)
