Your grey hair suits your skin tone. I love my natural grey hair, so much more flattering than the ever darker dye I used to use trying to cover the grey roots.

I’m happy to see you embrace your natural hair color. I colored my thick dark hair while trying to keep up in the corporate world. Finally at 60 I decided to let my gray show. I’m 71 now and love my salt and pepper hair. I get so many compliments on my hair color and smooth skin. The softer hair color compliments my softer skin as God intended. You look beautiful, natural, and feminine.

The challenge I face is this new body I find myself in, (NOTHING fits me anymore), as well as my new priority, COMFORT. Shoes in particular. They dictate my “fashion” choices, and that often leans towards the frumpy. Frustrating, but you are giving me ideas, and a bit of hope.

The beauty of natural hair is that it gets whiter - more flattering - as you age. I am turning 71 on 25th, and it has been all white for several years. Eyebrows and eyelashes fade in line with hair, and adding too much colour can look harsh (as well as cause blepharitis). Here in Sicily you wear sunglasses all the time anyway; a tan gives you all the glow you need

My gran wanted white hair, but hers was salt and pepper, as was my mother's, and now so is mine. I suppose it's down to genetics. I'm 73 and still have a lot of brown in my hair. I've decided to enjoy my hair colour however light (or not) it gets. I agree that allowing hair to lighten naturally is more flattering.
@KatieRae_AmidCrisis4 ай бұрын
@yellowfuchsia1 Yes! Celebrate the variegation that is unique to you ❤ I've still got some coppery strands, mostly around my fringe, and some darker brown growth, mainly at the nape of my neck. In many ways, I find the texture issues more bothersome than anything regarding the colour.
@Tutujls4 ай бұрын
I agree. Our skin also softens and dark dyes make us look too harsh and draws attention to any lines or wrinkles. The softer natural hair color compliments the softer skin.

I think you are a soft spring, predominantly soft rather than warm- so you can wear some softer warmer summer colours and some cooler soft autumn- but even the grey hair doesn't make you a summer and cool. Bright pink makes a statement when you want the focus on what you are wearing, but a softer blush, rosewood or slightly peachy coral pink suits you better.
@Myover50fashionlife4 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes I was told I can wear soft warm too as I'm predominantly soft. Soft deep cool I was told.

Most of us change our coloring as we age,our hair ,brows and skin too.That is why we get washed out (age fade) and need little makeup like blusher or lipstick to bring color and freshness to our face.

Re colour changing with age, my understanding is that your undertone will not change with age, however our skin colour (ie overtone) can and often does change, and for those of us who embrace the grey then the contrast between our hair and our face greatly diminishes. That means if you may change subseason or change to the less intense season; from winter to summer per example. In your case I think you were given the wrong season in your younger years. So many colour analyst automatically place reddish hair and freckles in autumn! It's not true! There are cool redheads and warm redheads, with and without freckles! I'm a heavily freckled true red redhead. There was a lot of contrast between my hair, eyes and skin and I was a dark winter. Now that the hair that frames my face is almost all white there's very little contrast and I'm a soft summer. My sister seasons remained true; it was dark autumn when I was younger, it's now soft autumn.

yes pigment fades so most people need softer colours, but still with their base undertone
@biomem905424 күн бұрын
Our colour type does not change with age. There might be colours in your palette that suit you better as you age, but your colour type, or season subtype, doesn't change. You were mistyped as an autumn and have now been correctly typed as a cool season. A person with hazel eyes and freckles can definitely look best in cooler tones. It all depends on the pigments in your skin, not your hair or eye colour.

I think I was mistyped in the past too.

Very good tips. I'd like to add one concerning materials: no synthetics, especially polyester. It's cheap, but also looks cheap and costs the environment dearly. It suffocates your body and nature. It means wearing fossil fuels in solid form, "enriched" with chemicals, which are non-degradable and umpteen generations to come will "enjoy" their harmful impact. No stylish woman will wear such a naff fabric. Buy less, but class!
