I have to use a 1 inch lift insole in one shoe due to Leg Lenght Discrepancy, hence, loafers are out the question for me, my heel will always slip out. What would be a good alternative to a Loafer? A Monkstrap? A casual leather derby? I was thinking on Nubuck Derbies.

Apologies for the late reply, but I think one could wear a black belt or a brown belt with a light pair of chukkas, it would depend on the overall outfit. That stone color is fairly neutral, and not as bound to "rules" of matching your belt and shoes.

I tried the 365 pants in a straight fit and they were a bit too narrow for my calves and thighs. Is the athletic fit a bit more accommodating, or should I try the relaxed fit?

Love a good pair of Mocs - for sure! Seeing a lot of great iterations of mocs/boat shoes. I'm always rocking a pair of Easy Mocs or Yuketen mocs. Definitely more on casual spectrum, but they are as relevant as always. That would be a good Gear Lab rundown!
