Finally, someone who knows what they are talking about who made an in-depth (see what I did there?) video on embossing. I've watched a dozen videos on this and this is the first one to touch not only on what lines per cm is, but a good max to use and why instead of just saying, "I use..." or not even addressing it at all. I was really excited to finally get a good explanation of things.

By the way, a good tip for beginners like me that I learned is that since brass is not magnetic, you can quickly find out which coin blanks are pure brass and which are just plated by using a magnet on them.

Nice job!! You answered several of my questions. I do have one though. Is the principal the same for stone and wood? Have you done either and would you know the rough settings for those? Thanks brother. You have a new follower.

Thank you very much for the video. I have been asked to make some specific coins for the Police in my country. I make embroidered shields and they have asked me if I could make some coins for them. I don't know how to treat the image and I can't find any video on how to do it. If I have to send the image in PNG or vectorized form, how to treat the image, etc. etc.

It's pretty straightforward ... When embossing the system is looking for a "depth map" ... Any pixel that it sees as WHITE will be the highest points on the design, and any pixels that are BLACK will be the lowest point. You get 256 levels of height. So, for instance, if you wanted to simulate something like puff embroidery you'd basically draw a cylinder that was white along the length of it, but which got darker towards the sides. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you need a dark background for everything to sit against. Your best bet is to start with a black circle and draw lighter colors on top of it. Good luck!
