Early next year i plan to expand my rural Japan cafe to include rescuing stray cats in my area to turn it into a unique Cat Cafe. Any help is very much appreciated. www.buymeacoffee.com/realruraljapan

I think any foreigner who wants to be a permanent/longterm resident of Japan should have to share in these responsibilities. They will separate the wheat from the chaff, and weed out the expats who want to take advantage of the benefits of a clean, orderly, and convenient society, while still being the irritating nail that stands out.
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
They generally lead a miserable life here people who behave like this.

@@RealRuralJapan Unfortunately, a number of “digital nomads” from the west act this way, because they often feel like they’re entitled to go anywhere they want, expect the locals to wait on them hand in glove, take advantage of the conveniences, and don’t contribute back.

Thats why they aren't offered permanent residency just a short visa. Japan's immigration laws are the way they are for a reason. I was an immigration officer for a short time in Australia and know how a bit about how governments think.

@@RealRuralJapan Just wish my govt also had the common sense to actually enforce these kinds of laws... (UK here)

Foreigners tend to only be able to see things through western eyes. Especially in Japan everything is done a certain way for a reason that is sometimes invisible to the western mindset. The worst thing to do is try to fight it. Simply accept it as the way its done and move on harmoniously.

The easy way is often the hardest. Their problems often start being lazy and buying a random house off the net because it looks good and it’s cheap. Most don’t want to do the time consuming real work of finding an area and checking it out properly before buying a house. I see it all the time and one thing I would like to change and make a difference to people. But it’s like hitting your head against a wall with many people they are too stubborn and lazy to what it’s best for themselves.

I agree a lot of people complain for the sake of complaining. In rural areas that’s how they do things you just do it that way easy. We have area meetings twice a year a member from each household has to go everyone goes. Just what you need to do living in Japan.

Thanks a lot man. I really appreciate your videos. I'll never get to go to Japan so it's nice to be able to look around at the real place and have someone who knows what they're talking about guide you. Keep it up and good luck to you!!

That's my idea of paradise. Community, slow food, grapevine communication and back to land. It's largely how I live in the UK, but can't grow half the types of fruit that Japan can. I'm too old to move now though, and I love my land.

Yeah I can't work that out how some people live in Japan and winge like what you said when heaps of people would love the chance to live in Japan. Also,Seen many bears around Ur neck of the woods?

@@RealRuralJapan Yeah, I've often thought that when I've been painting 🎨at the Foothills in the mountains in Niigata. Because I've seen a few bear signs around, I just don't want to bear to jump out on me lol. When you get your cafe up and running I could always send you some oil paintings Cheers. Regards, Tez

A lot of America’s problems would be gradually solved by implementing stuff like that, but imagine how much belly aching you’d hear! (That might be worth it for the entertainment value)

I feel like a foreigner here in my own country, I dont understand what anyone is saying and I dont recognize any of the values I grew up with. 😢

I wonder if this is more due to an older population as they can be set in their manners of doing things or does it extend to the younger generation who have been brought up in a digital age? Change takes time, is that same mentality reside in the major cities where i would think it is a younger demographic who live in the hustle and bustle of a metropolis where time is a commodity in short supply. My in-laws were very much in the same vein however the younger generations embraced the speed of technology, i wonder if it is the same Japan.

It does appear to build and sustain community, but there is of course a cost to this. Japanese productivity is overall low, and it has contributed to the economy struggling to grow and leaving wages stagnant over the last few decades. If Japan is to get out of its stagnant period and grow the economy and wages, it will need to increase worker productivity and some of the customary ways of doing things will have to modernize. No more faxes, paper based systems, etc.
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
Lot of miserable lost people with money around the world but you don't see that as a cost because you are measuring in money. I understand your point but life isn't about money and economic growth.
@MrGundawindyАй бұрын
I'm not sure if I understood this one. Did you just not show the people you were dropping the papers off too? You said the benefit was that you regularly meet and interact with these people because of these procedures, but the video looked like no one was home and you just dropped the paperwork at the door, so there was no benefit. I'm confused.
@RealRuralJapanАй бұрын
Two weren’t in obviously and two were. Some people don’t want to be filmed for KZbin. What’s so confusing we are living our normal lives and not everyone is a pet in a zoo.

@@RealRuralJapan oh, it just wasn't clear, that's why I was confused. I probably want paying enough attention, I was doing other things while the video played.
