Romero, I commend you on your excellence. I'm new with embroidery and recently purchase the MT 1501 Ricoma and the 5x5 mighty hoop station. You are a perfect teacher and you explain your work so well. I pray and strive to get even close to your style of work and I thank the Lord for leading me to your channel. May Jesus Bless you as you continue in your success and continue to Bless others.

I also appreciate the different tips you provided on finding the center of the towel for those that may not have all the tools that you do. As always, great job!

Im watching this AS i'm embroidering a few towels for a customer XD So I use water solvable front backing, and I dont use the tearaway, because that ussually makes a very ugly impression. Maybe i'm using the wrong kind. Not gonna lie, the knock down stitch makes this look Waaaaaaaay more professional! Thank you for this!

keep using your solvy, its the proper way, not knock down underlay, thats wrong. You can use tearaway on the reverse of you like, we use solvy both sides.

I am a novice. I managed to create many lovely Christmas gifts. Now, my bobbin thread is showing on top. To top it off, my thread wrapped the bobbin case while sewing on fleece; I had to cut it free. There are sooo many variables that I’m not sure how to fix these issues. Is it the stabilizer, thinness of the fabric, needing more thread on the bobbin, bobbin tension, top tension? Gosh. I’m stumped!

I just came across your video, already subscribed. You mentioned a class every Saturday, do you still have that class? Where can I get the info? On the towels, I noticed you did not use the soluble plastic that people issuance placed on top of the embroidery for towels, can you tell me why?
@stephanier5765 Жыл бұрын
Hi! I was a little confused about how to remove the tear away backing - I saw you removed most of it and I think you started to mention that washing it over time will help remove the rest? I am new to embroidery and trying to figure out which backing stabilizer to use for terry towels and/or flat kitchen towels. Thank you so much for the video!

For pricing, do you charge for the knock down stitches count in addition to the font stitch count? (Is you charge by the stitch)
@RomeroThreads11 ай бұрын
I would charge base off time. If its something thats under 1,000 stitches it’s not a big deal. I usually have set prices for beanies and towels which already has the knockdown stitch factored in.

Why do you prefer knockdown stitch to water-soluble topping? Isn't it more time-consuming than just placing a topping? Are there big differences between the 2 methods in terms of the final result?
@RomeroThreads2 жыл бұрын
I think it looks cleaner and the stitches remain nice and tight. I don't like the clean up afterwards w/ wss. Its all preference.

Since your into details, instead of wasting underlay stitches you should have used a water soluble top layer, we use solvy. You will get a better satin top layer also without all that bulk under it and underlay never knocks down the pile enough. Your reverse side will look way way better also, as currently the reverse side looks unsightly. Hope that helps.
@RomeroThreads2 жыл бұрын
Yes, water soluble topping is an option, its very convenient and easy to use. I do not like to use the topping. I don't like the clean up, and the overall quality and durability of a knockdown stitch outweighs other options (my opinion of course). It all depends on your preference, if a water soluble works for you, then stick to whatever works for you.
@bayareaquilting332 Жыл бұрын
I see you don't need a topping when doing the knock down stitch.
@RomeroThreads Жыл бұрын
Yes, I don't like using topping, the knockdown stitch holds the nap longer and more secure. I really dislike the cleaning portion of the topping.

I don’t like using a topper. Water soluble topping is useful if you are not using a knockdown stitch. I prefer using a knockdown stitch, I feel it holds down the stitches longer after multiple washes. Some people use both methods, its all preference.
