Thank you! This has worked beautifully. I have 2 x 1070s in SLI and I was having a nightmare playing this game. Using the built in benchmark, I've gone from from 27 fps to 119fps! That was in 1920 x 1080 but even in 3840 x 2160 HDR I'm getting 59.4123 fps! Granted all settings are on "low" but you've given me MASSIVE latitude to find a sweet spot by incrementally increasing graphics quality settings now! Great scaling it seems. Both cards are at 98-99% consistently! And people still continue to shout ”SLI is dead” 🙄 I own 150-200 different games and SLI works moderately good to very good in all but ~20 of them. Yeah 1070/80 SLI probably wouldn’t be worth it when buying new GPUs since the RTX 20 series is pretty great as a single card, but I got my second 1070 for free as a gift from a friend a couple months back, so even 20% scaling is worth it to me. SLI has been a pretty decent experience for me so far (although, I’m also one that likes when things don’t work - I enjoy tinkering with profiles and settings). Thanks for the RDR2 fix!

I agree, I love SLI. Really sucks that the only card to offer multi GPU support is the RTX 2080TI, with nvlink. If any of the other RTX cards had support I probably would've upgraded to a 2070 or 2080 by now. But, I got a giant full tower case so two GPU's fills up that empty space since I don't have a custom water loop. Thanks for watching.

@@wowashuwow You can, but it can be pretty glitchy. It's definitely a lot easier to just go with a single card, to avoid issues. It's fun experimentign with SLI and all, but I'd recommend, at this point in time, selling your 1070 and grabbing a 2070 while the prices are low (they should drop during the announcement of the RTX 3000 series). That's what I've decided to do as of now. SLI unfortunately is even less supported than when I made that comment a half year ago. It still works decently, but for sure not as well as a single powerful card.

The Strange Brigade option doesn't come up in my Inspector. It also doesn't show me that many profiles that you have. My game is running from the Epic store, not steam. Could this be the case?

look for it manually, select "Show unknown setting from Nvidia predefined profiles" option

If you look at his rivatuner hi on the game, one of the GPUs has 0% usage. I'm not sure if this is bullshit but it seems kinda off🤔

I didn't have GPU 2 enabled on Riva tuner. The "0" you're seeing on GPU 1 is something else not related to SLI.

Hello to all. To all of you Who wants to get sli in RDR2 first of all you can get it only on Windows 10. I tried to get sli on Windows 7 but with no result. So I installed RDR2 on win 10 (1909) with newest drivers 451.68 (i guess), enable sli and vulcan (in game options) and that's all - I got 2 my gtx 1080 working in sli Mode with 100% result, with no glitches or flickering, but River Tuner overlay. Sky and fog are okay. I am happy. And with "Ultra" options and TAA - "high" I have about 45 fps in 2k resolution and about 60 with "High" options... I did not use Nvidia Inspector, guys. I tested with single card and sli gives about 15-20 fps

Hello man, I am trying to do all the stages like u did but first, at the last option you changed in Nvidia Inspector I just find one option, not the RDR2 like you have, just the profile you selected (and when I try to play the game in Vulkan all appears in black, the sound shows the game is running fine but all is black 🤷🏻‍♂️

Are you using 2 different overlays? I've found that can cause flickering. I'm not sure why but I never manually changed the profile but I saw SLI support out of the box with vulkan and no flickering when not using overlays. I average 91FPS on ultra/high settings at 4k with dual 2080 ti. This game also hates any clock adjustments but has reacted nicely with a slight memory offset of +500

No. I'm just using one overlay, riva tuner stats with MSI afterburner. It only flickers when SLI is enabled, but when I remove SLI it goes back to normal.

Well I have the FPS locked at 60. So I get a stable 60 FPS. But if I unlock it I get anywhere from 60-120 fps. Pretty sure I'm playing with a mixed of settings, some at ultra some at high.

This video didn't work for me 100%. I also had the Strange Brigade issue where it isn't there in the file. Here is the play by play on my process of getting 3090 SLI or NVLink to work in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) Vulkan mode (for those who may have the same issues I experienced). ***Make sure SLI is enabled in the Nvidia Control Panel*** 1) First issue was getting RDR2 to run at all with SLI Enabled in the NVidia Control Panel. Without this change, my SLI would just result in black screens with sound for both the benchmark and the game itself. [a] Solution: changing transferQueuesEnabled from 'false' to 'true' in the system.xml file located in C:\Users\*****YOUR USER NAME ON YOUR PC*****\OneDrive\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings\system.xml Make sure to edit in notepad and not to allow any formatting changes to be made or added. Also, the file won't show the lines that you need to edit unless you open it in something like notepad or txt edit (xml viewer hides the lines for some reason...). 2) The next issue was getting the SLI to actually enable for the 3090s. This I suspect has to do with some kind of conflict between programs accessing and changing the nvdrsdb0.bin and nvdrsdb1.bin files independently of each other for some reason. [a] Download and install nvidiaProfileInspector. Change the following settings on Red Dead Redemption 2 profile: In section 5 - Common: change Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance [optional] Antialiasing - SLI AA to Enabled Change the 'Number of GPUs to use on SLI Rendering Mode' to '0x00000002 SLI_GPU_COUNT_TWO' Change the 'NVIDIA predefined number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode' to '0x00000002 SLI_PREDEFINED_GPU_COUNT_TWO' Change the 'NVIDIA predefined SLI mode' to ''0x00000003 SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_FORCE_AFR2' Change the 'SLI rendering mode' to '0x00000003 SLI_RENDERING_MODE_FORCE_AFR2' [c] After applying the above changes immediately change the nvdrsdb0.bin and nvdrsdb1.bin files (Location: C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs) to 'read only' Note: You will have to go to Appearance and Personalization in the Folder Options in Control Panel and select 'Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives' to access these easily. That is what worked for me at least. Hope this helps someone.

I've had performance issues with the rockstar games launcher over the Steam version. So it's probably because you're using the non steam version.
