Hello, i really appreciate that vid. Some question, the authentication that you are generating (key rsa) into the switch how exactly can it be usefull for outside devices trying to connect him? How it is works?
@networktutor640 Жыл бұрын
basically it enabled ssh capability of the switch which means it opens up port 22. Say for example - in the past i deployed a switch in the field without creating the RSA key and came to desk and try to ssh into the switch using its management IP. I immediatly got a msg saying connection to ssh refused. Luckly i had telnet enabled on the switch and was able to telnet into the switch and enabled ssh via creating the RSA key. Hope it helps?

Hi, vert good video, I test cisco switches. While configuring the switch I always connect a console cable and access the switch using teraterm/putty. I want to access the switch remotely with out any cable. The important thing is switch is not connected to any network, it will be powered on thats it. Is there any way that I can configure/access the switch remotely with out any console cable or the switch not connected to any network.

Remote access is very common. You need to create management network and it should be routed in some way for you to access the switch remotely

@@networktutor640 thank you so much for the reply. Let me explain my problem this way. Consider wireless remote car. It can be operated via rf/Bluetooth/wifi with no physical wire connected to car. Here the car is standalone, yet we are able to operate it. In a same way, is it possible to configure a switch which has no physical connection via rj45 to our laptop in anyway.
