Doesn't work on mine either. It still tries to get you to make an entire voice message, not speech-to-text. Hate this idiot phone.

try this... Settings -> general management -> keyboard list and default -> toggle ON " Keyboard button on navigation bar"

I just did something but sm not sure what i did but the microphone icon just showed up again. I went again and did everything she did and it still didn't work so i started going into everything else associated with the keyboard settings and ended up hitting LAYOUT once LAYOUT opened i toggled on the ALTERNATE CHARACTERS and now the microphone icon is there I tried undoing the steps to make sure that was what fixed it and it did not take the icon off so i apologize in advance if im sending you on a rabbit trail.

I rewatched the video several times and did exactly as you did but i still dont have the microphone icon appear on or near my keyboard like you do I repeated the steps again and still nothing. All my other samsung phones have had the ability to do voice to text. This has been extremely inconvenient since I usually text by talking into my phone I was thinking, are you using a google text app? Is that why the google voice to text is working for you and not the rest of us?

Not sure. The button choice above the Google typing only seems to tell me what keys I'm hitting. Sigh
