Hi Pru , Been using kumihimo ever since I saw you on JM ,,. I find this a very relaxing hobby , giving most of the braids away as gifts ,, when mixing epoxy I use Pringle lids , there are other containers that have similar lids ,, when set , just bend the lid and the glue falls off ,,. Regards Alf

Excellent tutorial, very easy to follow and you are going at a perfect speed. I can’t tell how many times I have had to stop and go back over instructions on other tutorials because they are explaining way too fast! Thank you for your time🙏

I know this video is a little old but I absolutely died at the way you pronounced macramé! Otherwise I’ve been bingeing all your videos and I love them.

I know what you mean because I find the American pronunciation of macrame very amusing!

Very useful. I wish I’d seen this before I took up Kumihimo. The tutorials from other so called experts cost me a lot of wasted cord, glue and time!

Very Helpful video, thank you Pru. I have a question. I am using E6ooo at the moment. I am following the instructions in your book on Kumihimo endings, using glue. You recommend putting glue on the end of the braid then waiting for it to dry but not get hard. Roughly how long does this drying take? Half an hour? Or one or two hours? It would be very useful to know.

Brilliant thank you. One question please, why do you use the glue on the braid, then cut with scissors as opposed to using a thread burner? Would the glue method be stronger?
@Prumihimo7 жыл бұрын
I think it is more a matter of personal preference than strength. I like to use glue because I find it easy to control and see if the braid is properly sealed before I cut it. I know that lots of people like to use burners to melt the braid and it should be perfectly secure, as long as you are sure that all the cords have been melted together. If you want to use this method I suggest getting a CORD burner, rather than a thread burner, because they are bigger and stronger.
@christinegorton84767 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Will try the glue method as you have mentioned.

Could I use E6000 or GS Hypo cement instead of the epoxy?

Yes you can, but be sure to observe the full drying and curing time, as advised by the manufacturer.
