I look forward to listening to whatever 3 songs LatumWay has for me to sample, and will indulge in whatever recommendations are asked.

I know you said you couldn't listen to everyone's music (of course), but your description of the drums being more than just the rythm of the song inescapably made me think of one of my favourite songs, "Evening Primrose" from Touhou 8. The most, shall i say, melodic use of drums i know of. These were awesome recommendations. I think i'll check out more of Yes whenever i can.

This is definitely more my kind of music due to the fact that even though the songs Jacob linked were much shorter I only made it through 1 of them whereas I listened to all of yours through including Sound Chaser. If I had to do a similar video to this, I don't think I could. Of the top of my head I can't think of 3 that I haven't gotten sick of.

I don't know why i haven't checked out "Yes" before, they fit right alongside Zappa and Pink Floyd and High Tide and Premiata Forneria Marconi and the like. Thanks for sharing, and thank BionicDance for leading me to this video. I'm always looking for more artistic music.

Good to see you back. Not sure if you've gotten in to the new Opeth - Heritage? I find I enjoy it immensely in certain moods, but it bores me in others. You may like Storm Corrosion, too - if you haven't heard. Collaboration between Steven Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt. They've released one album so far. Those are the two major prog rock albums I've been listening to since I last saw you on YT. Take care : )

Love the Prophet's Song. I've always looked for music that is less formulaic, ever since i was a kid. But my parents listened to Pink Floyd records.

You know, I had never even heard of Porcupine Tree. Just listened to one of their songs, Time Flies, and I gotta' say you are absolutely right, that song was bridging the gap between alt rock and prog rock perfectly. Although, I was hoping for something a little more dismal, like a prog rock version of joy division would probably be the best music ever in my eyes.

King Crimson is another good band to mention. Rush is the best if you love classic rock and are still in touch with your adolescence.

Im a punk fan, but appreciate all kinds of music as long as I like it. The prog rock bands I like the most are Acid Mothers Temple, And the Jethro Tull "Aqualung" album. My favorite punk bands are Dead Kennedy's, Bad Religion, Reagan Youth, The Oblivians, Jay Reatard, and Descendants. As far as prog, I do like Tool.

Ramblin' Time! There is some great, cosmic irony concerning Prog and some of today's music. Punk Rock mostly arose as a reaction to both the hippy movement, *and* to the grand theatrics and overblown productions of Prog. Consequently, Prog was basically dead for a long time to the Hip Crowd. However... I can't help feeling that a lot of today's "cool" music which developed from Punk *also* - and maybe unwittingly so - incorporates elements of Progs. Like LCD Soundsystem's 45_33? Dance-Prog! :D

Your first recommendation is helpful (and one I kinda deduced after the first video that Modias recommended!haha!)the video was extremely "distracting" (though the imagry was interesting!) I hate it in a movie when music attempts to "tell me" how to feel, and imagry with music is kinda the same in the reverse!Trying to work on Modias's tag, and I'm sorta new to prog-rock!

Pink Floyd, Rush, Uriah Heep solidly anchor my top 3 prog rock bands! The seagulls in the background were pretentious as fuck, but you were alright! ;-) I gotta go check out your picks though! They sound interesting, even though I can't stand Mercury's voice! Cheers
