How to enter hidden menu in BMW E90 E91 E92 E93 (3 Series service test mode)

Hidden diagnostic menu in BMW 3 Series (E90, E91, E92, E93) hive you access to tests and diagnostic readouts of your car.
Perform needle sweep, LCD and indicator test, check fuel level, battery voltage, board computer data and more interesting information that can be useful when troubleshooting electronic issues with your vehicle.

mr-fix thank you. So if I take it to 19. Do I leave it to lock then press the number of times my vin numbers add up to. Eg. 27. The word lock just worries me. Lol.

After you turn off the car it goes back to normal. You need to reenter hidden menu each time you want it on your instrument cluster.

You need to recode your car according to current optional equipment.

Sure. You need to remove the instrument cluster, disassemble it, unsolder old orange LEDs and solder in new ones. Put it back together and hope that you didn't broke it. :)

I changed the battery in my BMW Z3 (2002) and now I need the code for the radio which I don't have. I contacted the dealer where I get it serviced and they gave me a code the doesn't work and are saying that is all they can do. Is there a contact or any place that might be more responsive that will actually take a second to try and provide the right code. I have all of the numbers off of the radio. Thanks

As far as I know you can get the code from dealer (which you tried already) or find a electronic garage that can generate your code from the radio serial number.

Most issues with this menu appear if you have some kind of warning on your instrument cluster (low fuel, service due, burned bulb). Or you didn't unlock the menu correctly.

I replaced my fuel pump and it seems like the fuel gauge is not working properly. Am I supposed to reset it somehow? Will this fix it?

hi i got e90 2007 . nothing coming on. only the hazards working . key not responding. only drivers door opened with key. interior light working when you put it on & off. nothing coming on on the cluster. tried new battery.

AFAIK it can't. You could change the correction factor for the fuel consumption calculator so your fuel range and MPG will not be accurate but that's about it.

Hi mr-fix. on BMW X6 cannot reset the Brake pads worn message. Try in many garages and many diagnostic soft and tools. Can I do this reset on Hidden menu? Thanks in advance.

Did you replaced the brake pad sensor with new one?

@@mrfixpl yes replace with new one. No susses at all. 3 garages with recommended mechanics and even original BMW dealer. 3 hours search without any results.

The thing is that you can reset it with hidden menu, but if there’s something wrong with the brakes (and I assume it is since no one can reset it) you will not be able to reset it before fixing the actual problem. Maybe new sensor is faulty, maybe the wiring is damaged, maybe you need to enter new pads width to the system before resetting the reminder... In E87 it was fairly easy to reset, not sure about the X6.

This is a diagnostic menu. It will not fix your car but can help you diagnose the fault. If you have error codes don't reset it but fix the fault.

Hi there! Thank you for making these awesome videos! I do have a question though: I own a 2007 E90 320i High Executive with an automatic transmission and the CCC/MARKS-system. How do you get the simultaneous display of both your mileage and data like the range, as you can see at 0:13? I can only see one at a time. I also don't have any information (blank) above my mileage on the default screen after starting the car. Thank you in advance!
