You may wonder if there are Vietnam travel insurance requirements. As of May 15, 2022, Vietnam has ended its COVID-19 entry restrictions; this includes the requirement for international medical insurance. Travel medical insurance is now optional to visit Vietnam, and the previous requirement to fill out a health declaration form and present a negative COVID-19 PCR test has ended. Currently, the only requirement for tourists to visit Vietnam is to obtain an eVisa (required for American and Canadian travelers), which can be done online.

Foreigner walk-in doctor visit at a Public Hospital is around $4.00 (pay on entry). Don't get sucked into a "Foreigner" type doctor unless you are getting a cut skin treatment.

@@aliecanthrowb they won't ask about covid or require quarantine or test, but I think the insurance thing is and has always been part of visit there. You can get it for just the trip days, and it's always a good idea to have the insurance in a foreign country...That's my opinion

Great video! Made the Visa process so much less stressful! I think one more important thing I heard about the phone is that you need to call your phone carrier and have them "unlock" your phone before flying to Vietnam in order for the SIM card to work with your phone.

@@sabrinag-g Hi I am in Vietnam now. My visa is a standard tourist entry for 15 days. I understand that is the max for Canadians for a standard entry. It took 96 hours to get the acceptance email.....not 72 at stated on the email. Couple of hints: Take about $20 worth of VND in your pocket before leaving your country, dont use USD for initial Sim or taxi purchase at the airport. At the airport...you will get ripped if you use USD. Check on the grab ap how much a taxi is to your hotel so you can measure the price with a taxi driver canvassing you at the airport. 2nd, get a Sim card and be comfortable with Google translate. Vietnam is not great with English. 3rd exchanging money at a jewelry store gives a better rate than bank. Make sure you use big bills that are in good condition Cheers and good wishes !

@@sabrinag-g I actually am only here about 10 days. However, my understanding is a "standard" entry visa is 15 days. For durations longer, there might be more involved. Regardless, I followed the directions for the visa in the video. 1hr ago, just had an amazing seafood feast, 5 dishes: bbq'ed scallops, oysters, squid, snapper, salad with drinks and coffee 38 CAD. My wife and i are STUFFED But... If you want to go real cheap you can. I just don't trust the sanitation for super-duper cheap street food in Vietnam Cheers

Well i did get visa in 3 days, arrival port hanoi and my connecting flight was via Danang, i was not allowed to board the flight from Bangkok as the first port was not Hanoi even tho i booked connecting flight, was a bit cheaper, but yea end up paying heaps for new flight " so headsup fellow travellers as policies hv changed " which is what i was told 🤔

Just returned from HCMC on a 30 day evisa almost two weeks ago. Also had a smooth no hassle experience getting through immigration. Coiuldn't buy a sim card as none of the vendors were open. It was a big public holiday 1/5. The airport was so deserted compared to pre covid traffic. I finally got my pho bo fix after a 2.5 year abscence. Very few tourists but lots of ex pats. And most important Number Five bar was still a going concern.

You can get 15 days on arrival, but you can’t extend with the 30 days visa inside Vietnam. You have to leave the country and re enter with the 30 day E-visa

@@joewest1674 There are no reports of anyone being denied for too many border runs. But you can't really count on the situation remaining that way indefinitely. Thailand used to allow unlimited runs and then stopped allowing it. Vietnam COULD do the same at any time. But as of April 2023 they have not.

MAI LINH (Green) & VINATAXI (Yellow) are good cab companies. VINASUN (White) should be avoided. ONLY USE TAXIS WITH METERS ON DASH BOARDS. Many pirate taxis hand out in tourist areas.

Hello! I am traveling to Vietnam in less than a month. I am having an extremely hard time getting Vietnamese currency (from US dollars). The banks that I've gone to don't carry that currency and don't order that currency. Has anyone else had a hard time getting Vietnamese Dong? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!! Thank you for this video, it eases my mind for when I arrive to Vietnam :)

You can only buy Vietnamese Dong in Vietnam. It is what is known as a closed currency . You can exchange your money at the airport and also in banks as well as some specialist money changers. There is a very good one near Ben Thanh market in Saigon. If you take any Vietnamese money out of the country you will be stuck with it. You will not be able to change it back into any other currency outside of Vietnam. Hope this helps

if i plan on going to thailand or cambodia and return to ho chi minh city, will this visa work for me? or do i need a multiply re-entry type of visa?
