Thank you for always looking out for us. Do you have a video on how to use the FX on this board for a live service? If you do, kindly share the link. Thank you once again.

I noticed on presonus you have to cut more low end compared to other mixers!

Great video. Is it possible to have a dedicated mix for streaming different from the FOH using the universal controller ? I have a problem Eq’ing the mix for the live service but the same mix is also sent for the stream I want to do the Eq’s separately.
@AttawayAudio25 күн бұрын
You would need to have channels double-patched in order to get separate processing for broadcast & FOH

Great video on live vocal eq. But just to add that you got this great result because the singer sing well and know the mic technic. If you have a singer who doesn't know how to sing on a mic you will end up with more bleed on the voc Mic and use more expander or gate, eq just to get this result. Good singer and Mic sign tech is the beginning getting a good Voice

I hope presonus adds a d esser and a pitch correction feature in there series 4 (whenever they do it)

depends on the singer. But it's hard to go wrong with a Shure SM58.

Maybe for the 4 churches that have one? And if they do, they've got a pro around who can show them

Excellent EQ demo James. I can get away with processing you can't due to my audio video setup. My mixer is on the wishlist for replacing to Studio Live III rack hopefully 32R, but 24R or even 16R will be fine. Current is Soundcraft Ui16 rack. Due to my Livestream requirement, I process all my audio as an Aux 2 bus through a Mac Mini M2 and PreSonus Studio 68c into Studio One 6.6 Pro. There's my processor with shiny plug-ins like a Slate Eiosis e2deesser, , Pulsar Audio 8200 EQ, adding delay, reverb, saturation, other compression like the Pulsar 1178, UAD Manley Vari-Mu and Soundtoys super plate, Softube Clipper and Schwabe Gold Clip into the Slate FG-X 2 limiter. Why Dave? Because I'm live mixing and mastering in one take. I don't get do overs. EQ is there to balance things out to a degree. Too much or too little and you can add or cut a bit. Don't go overboard though, because other frequencies at the opposite end will poke your ears. BBQ forks are helpful. And no, I don't like sound tech solos. Avoid as many as possible. Best to y'all.

In the process of watching this video, side note wanting to invest in shotgun mics because when recording the service on Facebook it sounds horrible sometimes it'll sound okay but for the most part it does not and I've watched your video on what to do and it can get it to okay but then when somebody records it with their Galaxy s24 it sounds phenomenal so my thought was to install two shotgun mics aimed right at the mains from about 15 ft away and see if I couldn't get better sound any recommendations
@rubemgl66697 ай бұрын
Any mic will work for that but I think you will have better results coming out of the mixer to an audio interface to the phone

@@rubemgl6669 well my friends Samsung s24 sounded a whole lot better than what the soundboard was putting out That's why I was going to invest in two shotgun mics

I know any Mike would work for this situation but I don't want the crowd being heard just what's coming out of the speakers
@igorzavalnyi53417 ай бұрын
are you able to mix the livestream separately? the Samsung sounded better because it recorded a bunch of reflections in the room which makes our brain listen differently and pay less attentiont to the sound issues in the mix. For example, one may notice that the same vocal performance sounds good in the room, but is way less accurate in the recording of the same performance. The right way to fix you problem is to work on the mix that is send from the board to the livestream even if it's the same as the front of house mix. Learn to eq and make things sound natural, then compress every channel, every group and the main bus, add a short-time reverb to the vocals to create volume, add longer-time reverb to make the vocals sound wet and pleasant, add effects to the drums, acoustic guitar, piano if it feels like it needs some. And don't forget, bad sounding sources and incorrect gain cannot be fixed by mixing no matter how skillful you are.

@@igorzavalnyi5341 thank you for that info, I was put in this position not knowing anything everything has been self-taught I still have a lot to learn I've been watching videos more than I've been doing anything else trying to learn so you don't think it's a good idea to install two shotgun mics and aim them at the main speakers, I don't understand how to make a separate mix Haven't learned that yet all help is welcome only been doing this for a year and there is so much to it ,My pastor is convinced this is the hardest job of the church lol

I wouldn't personally say not to touch about 5k. Just assign all vocals to a subgroup and cut out with a tight Q the frequencies where all the "ss" are on the singers, which by the way is different on males and females.Also cut out any harshness that there might be. Don't get wild with it. Small cuts do the trick.
@AttawayAudio7 ай бұрын
I just prefer to take care of it dynamically with dynamic EQ or de-essing.

My biggest beef is the huge quantity of FOH audio people at churches who couldn't mix milk and sugar into a cup of coffee--and don't even know or care! Try find one of those people and walk them through a "what to listen for" session. Here is my thought--stolen from Robert Scovill--listen to music and audio every day. I would select CDs in particular because they are mastered. Most download music is run through algorithms to minimize certain frequencies and increase the streaming efficiency. Listen through your own church system, or at home if it's decent. Deconstruct the audio for vocals, instruments, and effects.
