How to Erase in Cricut Design Space

"THE ERASE BUTTON" -- WHO KNEW??? Thank You! I only have 12x12 mats and don't want to buy larger paper to make one of those really fancy envelopes on Cricut workspace!!! Now I can cut the thing in half and cut it from two sepaate pieces of paper and have a two part envelope!!! I was going to order larger mats -- but now you've saved me that Christmas money! Cutting the thing as I type this! Thank you again! Now I can't wait to see what the magic wand does! LOL You're a lifesaver!

I am glad I could help. If you run into random cuts again, look at the Layers Panel. Sometimes there are hidden layers we don't see right away. Click on the eye icon and that layer will be hidden. I am trying to erase the number pieces from a cutting file.....its number 1 to over 100 I dont want my machine cutting the numbers out. Contour isnt an option and just basic erase would take forever. Any ideas ty :)

I have a windows computer and checked that I have the latest update to the software. I do not have any choices for how to save an uploaded svg file. I do not have an erase button. i am so frustrated that i want to send this back! Why would my Cricut Design Space be so different from what I see on all the tutorials? I hope thst you can help me.

Hi Jennifer. First, for as much as I know, we can't save anything we create outside of Cricut Design Space. I am sure there are some "work arounds", but I haven't found one that works for me yet. Second, there isn't really an erase button, but there are tools that act like an eraser. Either follow my video or the written directions on my web site at SmartCuttingMachineFun.com to learn to erase with your machine step by step. Design Space requires a Windows or Mac operating system. Chromebooks run Google's Chrome operating system, which is not compatible with Design Space.

Why isnt this working for me?! It just slices the birds from the square. :(

@BrenLittlepage I figured out that while it sliced the bird from the square (in my case they were sprinkles) it also sliced it away from the artwork and was just underneath the gray sprinkles. Then I had to select and delete all three - the artwork cut sprinkles, the new gray sprinkles, and the square that had cut outs now. Then grab a new square and do it all again for the remaining.

So I did exactly what you did and it didn’t work “slice” not sure what you are not explaining but work on it cause it frustrating as heck!

I am sorry it didn't work. The biggest tip to remember is that slice will only slice 2 objects at a time. So if you have 3, it won't work. The way to solve this is you have 3 or more is to weld 2 pieces together before you try to slice. I hope this helps. If not, please reach out again.....Bren
