Currently experiencing the same thing. I've activated my own BlueLink account but the previous owner is still locked into the car. Did you ever find a way around this to get that account removed?

Great video. Very informative. A question you didn't address: How do you delete phone contacts? My 2022 Tucson Hybrid somehow grabbed all of my contacts without my permission.

I would recommend deleting the connection on both your phone and car. Then once you go through the process of pairing it will ask if you want to allow contact sharing, select no on your phone.

This should reset everything. The only thing that cannot be reset is the layout if navigation updates have been performed in the past. From time to time updates do change the layout which are permanent.

That was a good tutorial, and can really make life easier. Will it erase a previous owners UVO account as well ? I would like to have my own UVO account.

I believe to gain access to your own Bluelink/UVO account you have to contact Hyundai/Kia customer service to setup your own (maybe also could be done online). It will reset of vehicle specific settings though and might erase the previous owners access to the vehicle via app.

If I recall, those systems did not have a true reset. Your best bet would be to delete everything you can. I had a 2013 Elantra GT with the same system but it's been over 4 years since I've been hands on with one of those older ones.

I was sure i made a comment, but cant find it, excuse me if its still there. The Kona Ultimate UK, uses the bluelink app, it shows every journey ive made, distance speed etc, is there a way to delete all this?

The data should stay within your login. As long as you reset the car and have it removed from your profile, I don't believe another owner can see all of that data.

I would try deleting all paired devices if you are able. I have never seen one say its currently connected without them in the vehicle.
