Set your controller to standard. Why? Easier inputs. You can use supers with just R2 and whatever button that is associated with it. No additional inputs. Also, start using your step ins (X) it comes with invincibility frames on start-up. Use your perception at close range for rush chains. It costs you nothing to use. Also, use sonic sway while under pressure from the front. Hold R1+O. While holding R1, you can wait to press O to get the sonic sway or perception. If sonic sway doesnt come out, you will either block or auto perception. While you are stuck in the block animation, you have options you can buffer depending on what your opponent is doing on your block. Perception will cover the sweep and overhead UNLESS they charge it, and then it will cost you skill points to use.

I think the game is programed to counter you as soon as you touch a button no matter what you do or know you are fucked.I can do all the moves in training perfectly but once you go story mode the game changes so you cant do shit but charge your ki and go into sparkle mode. The game also stops you from backing up when you need to make ground to charge up ki. The game knows when you panic by the way you push the buttons.

If you have pro or elite controller I recommend using your paddles and mapping them as your counter buttons to increase consistency and also help you win clashes. For instance on my elite controller I have B and X mapped to my top 2 paddles and the thumb stick on the lower left and A on the bottom right. With that i can almost use sonic sway on demand and almost always land my counters.

You should use basic fgc guide when talking about controller input. It makes it easier for you so you don't have to use too many details when rds to describe something. Theres up down left right On top of the cotroller you have left bumper left trigger and right bumper right trigger The face input on the right from left to top is 1 and 2 and from bottom to right is 3 and 4 Don't know if that makes describe the input easier but thats how i read the control in my head.

Yeah I get you and understand. In this particular video. There’s not much of an input if that makes sense?? I never thought about using FGC terms when it comes to sparking lol but for you what I’m explaining is up + 1 to do the block if you’re getting mashed. Press 4 at the right time to vanish when getting chased or hit with a heavy. Press 2+4 to do the perception block when you have 2 skill counts.

Exactly what you are trying to do is what everyone is struggling with, the up square. It is absolutely ridiculous when you get caught in these combos and up square does not work, I will keep hitting it and it just does not work. Some characters it seems to work easier with I have no idea why. I feel like theres something im not getting because all these high ranked people just spam combos and never get caught up.

So frieza in first form, and especially 2 and 3rd seem to never be able to consistently use the up square counter... But then they die, and cell first form, chiatzou and yajirobo have no problems doing it against most characters. I dont get it, Ieither theres a hidden counter for each character or im missing something

If the opponent is hitting you from the front you can just block almost everything he does, there are a lot of gaps between attacks. For example, if they are hitting you with rush combo and try to go for a rush chain, you can just block it because it does not combo.

To get out of back shots, do this. First, set the controller to standard. Why? Inputs are easier. Use super counter, up+square. It is not reliable, though. Practice this technique. It costs you nothing to use, BUT it can be countered. Second, side step to avoid the back shot or vanish.

i like that anything that launches your opponent you can follow up w a r1 teleport. throw someone? teleport just won a clash? teleport perfect charge attack where u teleport behind them and launch them? fckn teleport again. then you ultimately finish w a rush or a super. love the way these things flow together
