Wow, this video is a hidden gem! Most of the "how to estimate" videos I've seen are just straight up trash -- they're made by painting companies that don't actually want you to know how they are estimating jobs. This spreadsheet is super detailed and basically takes everything it possibly can into account to give an accurate estimate. Thank you!

Bidding jobs has been difficult for me. I want to be fair to the client. But, I also want to be paid a fair wage for my skill level. Adding prices up on the spot and breaking down all the different items that are needed and figuring in prep time... This system you have looks simple and could be used for any situation I would run into. Thank you for sharing

Do you account for certain paints that take longer to dry, like semi gloss ? if a wall needs 3 hours before you can paint a second coat, would that be reflected in the price?

Think about the service you’re providing and degree of knowledge difficulty, and fair market value before presenting estimates like this… I’m a 25+ yrs Real estáte investor... I had a guy summit an $8700 assessment....7 days later, I ran into him at the local Sherman Williams... He asked me how the project was going. At the time, I was about 85% completed for $2700 all in..., And it looks great Be mindful of overvaluing yourself... A repair shop owner referred the painter. I was getting my oil changes at... spoke to him about that painter and his prices... The shop owner smiled and said, “he's good though, “ and that's close to the price he gave me.” I shared with him my satisfaction and prices with another guy, and he thanked me and now uses my guy...

Prices will be all over the place, if you want to stay in business, you price will need be higher than people who end up, going out of business because they didn't charge enough.
