8:15 "but both of those are about me. the better way is for somone to go, 'is your wife worthy of you honoring and respecting her'" and that leading to why you should treat her/God a certain way is so good. I am just learning that and i have been a christian my whole life. The idea that we exist to serve God and not the other way around is much too foreign to the western church.

A wicked life will pave the road to a wicked place. Telling the truth is just as compassionate as telling a kid he will get type 2 diabetes treatment if he eats ice cream everyday and may even lose a limb from so. While your physical life stays the same your spiritual life and how you look at people will dramatically change from serving Christ. I think you guys are overlooking the spiritual aspect that Charlie is pointing out.
