NOTE: SINGLE RIDER IS NOT ALWAYS OFFERED ON THOSE RIDES, ESPECIALLY INDY. If it's too busy, they do NOT have single rider offered. I've often been turned away as a solo guest trying to do SR, and have had to come back a few times later on to see if it's been brought back. Great video, Dave! 👍

I was in Disneyland the 26th, 28th & DCA the 30th. My 9 year old saw this video on KZbin when we were in Disneyland & said you were at DCA. After riding the Matterhorn I asked a cast member how I could ride the other track & she said we would have to do single rider - she thought we wanted to ride it then & it was getting late. That's how we found out about single rider. We loved it. We didn't have to wait on Icredicoaster, or Matterhorn Bobsleds. We got to ride both of them 3 times. We didn't know about the others, so thanks.

Just came back from Disneyland this past weekend and single rider would of been a great way to beat the crowded lines but it’s not possible if you go with your family unless your willing to leave your spouse with the kids lol 😆...once married and with kids your never single again.

I normally go alone so have some experience with single rider. I used to basically just walk on to rides via the SR queue, but when I went 2 years ago the CMs had started working much harder to fill vehicles without using single riders. On Matterhorn the CM was calling for groups of various sizes and pulling them ahead in order to avoid using us CRs. I believe the same thing happened on Splash Mountain, leading me to deduce that it was new policy. As David says, I think a lot of a SR's success comes down to the size of the ride vehicles. Matterhorn's 6-seat trains are easy to fill with 3-3, 2-2-2, 4-2, or 6. (I'm assuming they split a pair of riders amongst cars in the 2-2-2 situation, but I don't remember specifically.) The only time you "need" a SR on that ride is if there is a group of 5, so if the CM is working hard then the SR ride can be SLOW. From this video, it looks like they don't like to split groups across different 4-person cars in Incredicoaster, so I think it really just comes down to the ride car size AND how the CMs fill them.

Great video! Fresh Baked always comes through. I never wait less than an hour for Space Mountain. My wife waits for me l off-rude because she’s doesn’t want to blast through space . So a 15 to 20 minute, single rider, wait is ideal. She hates all coasters, yet enjoys Matterhorn Bobsleds on the Fantasyland side of the mountain and the Indiana Jones Adventure.

When I did Star Tours single rider a few years back they had people by the exit where you drop off your glasses. Going by this video it seems like they don't hold you there anymore. I'd say you get pretty mixed results with it, but I really liked chatting up with the Cast Member over there and its very peaceful at that spot until they have people exiting. Splash and Grizzly River Run is easily walk on to 5 minutes in the evening and if they offer it in the morning. Radiator Springs you can justify the wait considering the standby and you still wait outside. Space Mountain I usually do when the hallway to the loading area is filled about halfway at most.

This was really well put together David!! Shows it all, how to, where to find AND is it a win situation usually?!! Agree with it all on experience, even when you said Matterhorn can be hit or miss sometimes. One time single rider there at Matterhorn I waited 50 minutes! Wouldn't have done that if I knew but when you're in single line, you think ok maybe in a few minutes right? Now? Now?! It was busy but I honestly think it came down to the cast member who just literally wasn't letting single riders in (there were about only 6 single riders waiting when I got there). USUALLY it's a win!

My hubby and I went a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed doing SR. Saved us so much time! We don’t mind getting split up and then we get to talk about our rides after. Had some interesting groups on Smugglers Run! Wasn’t open for Incredicoaster the day we went.

This is a great video. My wife won’t ride coasters. Space Mountain, Splash Mountsin, and Incredicoaster are must rides for me. Didn’t realize there were single rider options on these rides. Thanks Dave. I hope Lightning Lanes don’t scree up single rider lines. They might rather you to pay $20 to wait in shorter lines.

My favorite single rider lines are Splash and Space. Splash because you will almost always be seated in The back so you won't get soaked and space because of its location. In the afternoon when it gets hot and crowded I will sometimes just loop the ride 5 or 6 times, straight from walking off right back into line. Spend an hour inside in the cool and ride several times!

Sr for Matterhorn is a no brainer. It’s not like you get to sit beside the person your riding with anyways. Wife and I can hit both sides on single rider most times in 15 minutes. I haven’t waited in the regular line in years

Very cool, thank you. Wait, was that a cast member in an ordinary (checkered red vest) outfit just as you get into the Falcon? I took the Falcon as a single rider in WDW, and had a blast. It was just a matter of ACTING like you were part of the crew... "Engineer #1 ready, pilots!" I had a blast in the Engineer position, and the cool thing was later, when I was watching a show, the two pilots and their Dad (a gunner) remembered me and we talked about our flight. I know things change, though, over time. Is there a place on the webpage or the app where it says what is SR at any particular time?

They close the line when it gets backed up. If the single rider line is closed, just check back later in the day. Checking back later in the day applies to all Single Rider lines as they do get backed up and Disney will close them. Space Mountain, Star Tours, Indy, Grizzly, and Goofy's Sky School frequently close their Single Rider queues during busy periods.

One time I was fighting with my family in the huge line for space mountain so I walked out of the line and walked to indianna jones and hopped into the single rider line. It took me 5 minutes to get on the ride and my family wasn’t even halfway done the line for space mountain by the time I was off indianna jones. But definitely the best choice I made lol. The one time I tried single rider on Indy I had a bad experience. I think because it had been down earlier, so they were very backed up on fastpasses and standby, I waited not moving for about 20 minutes to be mixed in before I gave up and got out of line. They were letting all disabled passes go ahead of single rider (rightly so) but single riders weren't moving at all and I only had a day at the park and couldn't waste time. But sometimes that happens if the ride breaks down.

The Indiana Jones single rider line use to be way worse but looks better in this video. Before you would wait in room before the projection room, then a CM would let a few single riders into the main line with the handicapped groups. This was back when the CM would stop the main line before going into the projection room (remember the two separate lines in that room). There would be long periods of time when there were no single rides at the boarding section because they were all waiting in the rope pull room.

No. Where it's a bench seat & shared lap bar. That's one I hope they never make a SR option. I was by myself one time, as I was sitting the guy behind me got in. It happened so fast I almost sat in his lap. I spent the whole time making sure I was holding on to the side tight enough not to slam into him. It was super awkward.

Sometimes I'll just go straight up the stairs and not tell the cast members nothing, I find in some cases it's quicker and you'll be able to request the front.

Depends on the attraction. Radiator Springs Racers, Space Mountain, Smugglers Run, and Splash Mountain a Single RIder Pass is not needed, just find the single rider line and get in. For Indy and Grizzly you have to go up to a Cast Member under the Stand-by wait time board and request a Single Rider pass and they will give you one if Single Rider is open. For other attractions you just join the single rider line and before you reach the boarding station a Cast Member will hand you a Single Rider Pass which you will then hand to a CM when you are assigned a seat on an attraction.

I never knew Splash Mountain had single rider and I only used my ticket's last day on its last week before Splash Mountain was to close after Memorial Day. 😔
