Exactly same case is with me.Im the second person i did exactly same infront of my I/O (allahabad)and he was very impressed with me that i accepted my mistakes and improved on that later on. My Interviewing officer was very co-operative and became interested after that and interview went well for 55 mins😌

Hello Col, Thank you for your words of wisdon and guiding the future leaders of India. While I am nowhere near the age when i can think of being an army officer, as I am nearing the south of my life. If I may add to the brilliantly answered reply that - what 1st case is working in his sphere of concern, where he doesn't have any control, Second case is working in his sphere of influence, where he can control and change..... This is the first chapter of the iconic book - 7 habits. Sadly, many of us keep focusing in our sphere of Concern (Poor Politicians, disorganised traffic, World hunger, Inflation,... extending further to unsupportive parents, lack of money, grandmother's illness etc etc), while our sphere of influence is - I will be an honest person. just I. .. Be The Change You want to See in others - That is the starting (and most of times only) step to leadership.

Past mistakes are events and not weaknesses. Weaknesses can be like poor English/communication skills, stage fright, poor academic understanding, disorganized lifestyle, poor physical fitness, inability to get along with colleagues, procrastination and such like stuff.

What if person A also accepts that he knows he can do better and has been working in that direction? What would happen then ? Speaking from my personal experience my grandmother had gotten blood cancer and I had spend alot of time in the hospital from 2pm to 10pm and I didn't had the time to study in my 12th grade. I only had a couple of months and I learned everything that I could which just got my boat across somehow and then in college I got severely sick ( somehow I managed not to die ) and in my final year I was able to work hard and get really good marks however it's still not enough to cover up the previous shortcomings and I wish to learn the things I've missed upon as well because I feel incomplete without that knowledge.

I haven't took part in NCC In college ( because of corona and admission delay), my school didn't have. can I clear CDS SSB I don't have much certificate but sir I have taken part in basketball ,badminton , swimming academy long ago ,I know how to play them very well . Good in communication skills .I am decent in Spanish as hobby ,I know coding , did course on cybersecurity
