fantastic that you are back into doing the short training tutorials. this inspires me to go out and try it rather than just watching someone do it and not understanding the whys and hows.

Agreed. I'm getting more from these than I do some of the much longer videos by others where you really just watch them shoot, but you don't learn anything.

You save people's time (learning curve) by a ratio of 3 months per video. Couldn't be simpler. Cheers!

I can definitely watch longer videos because I love your work. These quick to the point tutorials are awesome! Thank you for sharing!!!

I used to think Photography was just the name of the art, never really noticed that it is actually literally what you do in the art. Draw/write with light. It's all about light usage. Thanks Jason for all the help.

Thanks for the great video and explaining the difference between the light for darker and brighter environments! And thanks also for showing that the Canon 50mm 1.2 is an amazing lens! If Canon had only a camera to match their amazing glass...

@sharksfan20115 жыл бұрын
Whoa? What happened to the Sony A7?? That Canon looks like a boat anchor comparatively speaking. :-) FYI just bought 2 Aeos Rotolights because of you and on the short survey made sure you got credit at Rotolight for the “referrer.” Thanks for all you do for the photo community!

You think this would work with my Rotolight Neo II? With accumulators?
@anthonygreaves49985 жыл бұрын
I love your videos Am missing some details on this one however. If you can, please do a long version of this. PS Jason, I learned so much just from your videos and I just got to let you know, I buy most of my camera gears based on your recommendation and never regret a single purchase.
@anthonygreaves49985 жыл бұрын
Think what I was missing was attention on my part After looking at the video from 12/2 I realized there’s no flash being used just the Rotolight in continuous mode only. No need for the long version, there was just a few little details that wasn’t in the above video. Thanks for sharing

@yervantparnagian59995 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all your videos. I'm a new convert to Sony after shooting Nikon for 40 years. Quick question. Why are you shooting at only 1/60 of a second?

Jason, I am looking into portable options for led lights. Can you advise if the elinchrome trigger is also compatible with godox ad200 flash? I read somewhere that Elinchrom Opens Up its Skyport Protocol To Third Parties. It would be awesome if I could use 1 trigger to control the led and flash together without the need of 2 different triggers. Like 1 trigger rules them all

I’m going to save up for an aeos and try to self teach myself by your lighting videos how to use them as Icant find a mentor here in N C 😢 . I use natural light or on camera with a mag mod diffuser but I’m bored I want to get creative

J'adore le look d'Emily, en tenue sage ou en tenue parfois décalée , le tout associé aux jeux de lumières de tes éclairages et comme par magie elle en devient princesse ou loubard ( Lorraine ,France )

I always wonder why it is essential to use artificial light to fill shadow instead of lifting the shadow in post? Color rendition? Noise? Skin tone?
@snowwalker99995 жыл бұрын
I thinking about taking a year long leave of absence from work and follow you around the world to learn to shoot portrait just like that.
I love your work, KZbin and the photography. But, how else are you making money with these photos? Are clothes companies paying, or fashion magazines, or this is photo-stock?
@WMedl5 жыл бұрын
The image without any artificial light was best - when beeing at the window the part far side from the window is of course darker! There is more dynamic and dramatic. The other shots are dull!

groovy. Canon may release a 75 megapixel EOS R early next year. Just enough time to rob a back or two to pay for it. Or maybe I'll win the UK lottery.

I totally admire your skill set but your pictures never make me feel anything. Your lighting is so perfect it doesn't look real. I don't want to look at a perfect lit model that doesn't exist. In real life we see harsh shadows and highlights on people, and that's okay. And in my opinion that's how portraiture should be. Commercial photography is something else, but making women look so perfectly flawless totally kills the otherwise beautiful and inspiring vibe in your photography. I feel like you should tone down your gear usage.
