Hi Styler, thanks for all your video, very informative and clear! I have a problem extending the background . I used the rectangular marquee tool, then stretched the selection down over the blank canvas, however the white canvas shows through as if the picture extension is only transparent. Don't know if you can help with this at all? thanks, Ben REPLY

Can you guide me through all the steps you did?

@@skylerewingphotography Hi Styler, thanks for getting back to me. I used the crop tool and took it outward to create a larger canvas below the image. Applied this. Used the rectangular marquee tool to select an area at the bottom of the picture, duplicated this, and deselected. Then used the move tool and pulled down the selection. This does stretch the selection, though the hatched blank canvas partly shows through the extension. Is this affected by the number of pixels in the selection perhaps? Thanks Ben.

Hi Skyler, even if I don't have Affinity Photo I watched this video (thank you for it) and I am very interested in that feature. I would like to know if it is possible (and how) to extend background in Photoshop / Lightroom / Luminar Neo ? Thank you

Hi Marie. In photoshop you can do it the same as Affinity. Same steps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for another great tutorial. After you become more experienced with Affinity could you do a video about what things are possible in Photoshop and not Affinity. For me, Affinity does everything I need. But I am sure some advanced users think otherwise.
