I think if you add a washer to the top with a knot in the line when the ball falls it would pull the bottle under water faster with that as a weight then pull and set

Easier to just make the well big enough to fit a bucket and use a bucket

When you have an idea and you grab your camera to make a video but you have not tried your idea before you start recording, so you have to stop and grab more items and/or tools in the process … While this is kind of an ok idea, I see no practical use for it. What are the chances that I am going to be stranded in a forest while carrying a heavy ball, a drill and some drill bits*, and then I just magically happen to run across a drilled well? 🤨 🤷🏻 *I can see carrying a bottle and a rope/length of paracord - that’s standard camping/hiking equipment, so I didn’t include them in my list 😉 Personally, grabbing my collapsible bucket and paracord, I can easily fashion a basket around my bucket (so my bucket cannot get away from me - I would not trust the bucket handle), then tossing the bucket into a stream, letting it fill with water and then retrieving the bucket would be so much easier, quicker, simpler, would require less tools and would require less pieces for me to carry. Work smarter, not harder, right?
