How to factory reset a TG589vac v2 VDSL2 router.

I have the same router got with iinet. now changing to exetel NBN provider but somehow can't seem to login with the new ISP modem login details. Did hard reset as you showed.

How do you mean log in? Log into the web interface into a new exetel router or the older iinet router can't log on to the line to get working internet?

Still confused which section. Log into the router admin or you are in admin and can't get the router logged into the internet?

does anyone know the default login for this router everything ive found online is wrong for mine

It is often set by the ISP who provides the router. Common usernames are admin, Admin or Administrator The password, if not set by the ISP to something else is the serial number in capitals e.g. CP0853SFZRE

Hi, do you know how to turn one of these into an ethernet switch? was planning to run an ethernet cable from internet hub into one of these and then run cables into sky box, tv and PS4. Have done the reset but its not accepting the password so i can re-allocate another IP address - any ideas. THanks,

That's the summary of it. Make sure IP doesn't collide and turn it's DHCP server off. (and IPv6 functionality if it has that too). However if you don't know the password to get into it.. I'm not sure you can do much. Try the usernames admin, Administrator and administrator and Admin and the password of the serial number e.g. CP0850SFZRE [obviously, using your own serial number and not my example one!].

I have this router but it don't work well the ''i'' light appear but the others don't lighthen and i don't get access the system

Sounds like it never boots, so probably failed firmware.

Mine has all Leds on, the second I power it. Trying to reset does absolutely nothing; leds remain on. I guess its toasted.

Unless your ISP modified it. It's usually Administrator with an upper case A and the serial number of the router usually in the format like CP0850SFZRE. Or the username is admin and the same serial type number as the password.
