Many thanks for the video! Was able to fix my issue with the next steps: reset remote control -> forgot it in the known devices list in the chromecast settings using my phone as a contoller -> remove bataries from the remote control -> enable pair mode on the chromecast and remote control -> accept pairing using mobile phone

Yo, this actually worked. I had just replaced with new batteries and I couldn’t even get a light to flash when punching buttons. Just figured the remote was busted. Removed the batteries, then put them back in while holding down the home button, and sure enough it lit up and was in pairing mode. Many thanks.

I appreciate the help! Shortcut: just hold the Home button on your remote while you insert the batteries. That should get the light pulsing on the remote, which means it's in pairing mode. Then hold thr button on the main unit until its pulsing too. From there, follow instructions on your screen

Ok hold down the chrome cast button for one second and the Bluetooth rest comes up and then hold home button and the back button at the same time and it will pick it up
