Great info Paul, as always. I bought a plain Chromecast to be able to stream my phone through the TV. Isn't Chromecast TV similar to Roku? I thought that 4 hdmi ports was plenty. I was wrong. I had to get an HDMI switch box and an RCA video/audio switch box to accommodate all of the devices: a Wii, a VCR, a blue ray player, a cable box, another game console, a stand alone dance mat, a Roku and a Chromecast. While I know how to connect all that stuff, most people wouldn't. I cringe when people are constantly plugging things in and out. Those HDMI ports are fairly delicate. You might want to do a segment on adding switch boxes.

Okay my remote was pulsing and would not pair. The problem was with the remote. What I did was take the batteries out put them back in hold down the back and home button for 2 seconds even though it was pulsing. I then connected this to my phone's Bluetooth which surprisingly enough it actually work the screen to move up and down on Chromecast. Anyways I unpaired and there was no pulse on the remote. I clicked the button on the back of the Chromecast just one click and it went into Bluetooth mode. I then pressed back at home on the remote and this set the remote back in pairing mode and the Chromecast immediately recognized it then started the countdown for pairing. Hopefully this helps out someone else because I was getting pissed.

My brother I have problem with powering my chromecast google tv via my projector usb power delivery port. This port is usb-a 1.5A but still chromecast giving me that screen low power. Ive checked projector setting and power port is on and ok. Its projector optoma hd29hst and even in spec its wroted that port is for powering devices like chromecast... Dont know what to do else.

Not working. Chromecast with Google TV device plug into HDMI port, tv screen immediately blank after few seconds; unplug & plug in several times, the issue remains the same.

On the remote and seeing the infrared, if your back facing (main) camera doesn't see it, try with your front facing camera. Most cameras on phones now have an infrared filter for better pictures. The lower quality forward facing camera usually doesn't.

I currently have the 2nd Gen Fire TV Cube. What I like about it is it turns on and off both my TV and soudbar with either the remote control and voice control. Everything else I have in my house is Google so I figured I get my TV on Google as well. How can I get my CCwGTV to turn on/off my TV and Soundbar simultaneously? If I can't get this to work then I'm returning it.

The only thing I don't like is the remote form factor and the super-soft easy to trigger buttons. Also the volume + - location it's not natural. But still a super good streamer.

Sir, i only get it to connect once, afte i unlplug all my devices for the day and plug them all this morning, it cant connect anymore. I followed all the support steps suggested by google. Resolving to factory reset but not yet in the button of device. I will try that now. Thanks for that info :(

Hello, i factory reset my chromecast after finding out that It cannot connect to the configured WiFi. My remote is not working anymore probably because of the battery leaked while it is inserted to the remote. Is there any workaround to be able to setup my chromecast? I'm currently stucked at Start Pairing when i connect the chromecast to the TV. Thanks
