This is the only method that worked for me! I forgot my pin and was locked out, unable to remote unlock or remote wipe. What I did was: 1. Connect the device to a computer. I used a Mac. 2. Force power off (hold Power + Volume Down) 3. Once the screen goes black, start holding Power + Volume up. That got me into the factory reset menu. Thanks so much!!!

to whoever might be in a situation of tablet locked, and can't shut. just know that it work great too, just connect it via cable to a pc and pwr+down, as soon as the screen goes black pwr+up and it goes into recovery. it worked for me, i hope it can for u too. thanks bud, i owe u one!

Thank you SO much. You literally just saved me $700. Also, I just wanted to note that if the device can't be turned off because the PIN prevents you from clicking the shutdown button, the method I used was: 1. Run down battery by any means necessary. I turned on the flashlight and let it sit for a few hours. This forces the device to fully turn off. 2. Use this guy's video! Note: It may take a little bit if you had to drain the battery completely like I did. It took me about 10 min of constantly holding these buttons to get it to charge enough and launch into the bootloader. I did this because if you let it sit by itself, it will turn itself on and go back to the lock screen in which you would need to repeat this process.

My only (very, very minor) complaint is that I ordered this in bronze and they sent me black. Yes, it should have been corrected, but we were only in country for a short period of time and I didn't want to run the risk of not getting a new one in time. I'm such a fan of Samsung Galaxy tablets that I'd rather suck it up than lose out on having it. In the big scheme of things, this rates an irritant factor of .0000000001 out of 1000. In other words, I'm not looking at the colors when I use it, so I got over it very easily.

Pra quem não esta conseguindo, desligue o aparelho conecte o usb normalmente, aperte a tecla power e aumentar volume juntos ate aparecer o logo da samsung, então tire o dedo do power e continue pressionando apenas o volume de +, vai entrar rapidamente no modo recovery!

Force it. Hold volume down and power button until it reboots. might take a few tries, but you should be able to do it. while its rebooting you have to immediately hold volume up and power button. kinda tricky but very possible to do.

@@jadesmith9932 I found the fix. Take the USB charge cord and plug it into a PC (my laptop didn't work, had to be my actual desktop PC), and the buttons booted to safe mode where I could then wipe my cache.
