@2:21 I read the description on their eBay page. Apparently when you report a stolen phone it locks out the GSM. So this unlock doesn't work for reported stolen iphones in the US but it will work outside of US so I guess it's pointless if you live in the US.

It's only illegal if you are locked in a subsidized contract. If you bought the phone used, or the contract expired I believe there is no harm, or anything illegal about it.

It worked! I don't know how long I had to wait for Apple's servers to recognize the change but my IMEI is officially unlocked according to sites like imei.info. Note to 3GS users: if you're using T-Mobile and are getting "no service" after updating your OS, you NEED to downgrade your BB if it's 6.15.00 (which is very likely if you had a 3GS on T-Mo previously). For me, I had to restore and update my iPhone, flash 6.15.00, then downgrade, and then restore my phone again to a 6.1.5 ipsw in iTunes

No , sprint use DCMA network, this's only for GSM.

Yup. They are both GSM networks. I unlocked my sister's AT&T iPhone to put in under T-Mobile and it works great.

We'll see if it works. I just ordered the unlock. You order it through eBay, then get asked to enter your IMEI and other details. Once it does go through, it will tell you it was successful. Then you play the waiting game. It's been about 5 hours still nothing. Not too worried. It was very cheap, but it did say iPhone 5. I'll post up what happens next. Hope I don't have to file a complaint through PayPal and it just works.

you can download almost any IOS that apple has released so that whenever you restore, you custom restore to that IOS file. If you want one as old as IOS 3.0, you can get it, just search on google and custom restore.

It is because your baseband is 6.15.00 (iPad baseband) You need to downgrade your baseband to a 3G baseband, and then restore, see it all the time.
