As a former recruiter, the best advice I gave my candidates was - Treat the interview like a first date, it's not just about them getting to know you. You need to get to know them. And remember have fun.

That's a perfect analogy. It's actually very similar to a first date!

Ive never had a first date. How does that even work.

Thanks so much for this. I am currently in the market for a new career, and this has given me some good insights I really wish I had someone like Joe in my corner. I cant believe that guy blew an opportunity like that. I would have been there 15 minutes earlier. That is embarrassing

Joe is awesome, and you're always welcome to connect with him on LinkedIn. We are rooting for you on your journey - hope you find the right opportunity for you ASAP.

I was rejected in final round of interview for Vulnerability Management Analyst role on the basis that I had only experience with 50 asset 😢 and I wasn't capable enough to handle the role as thy had 150+ asset

Having ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder makes interviews so much harder. It frustrates me because the interviewer will think just because I don't say much, I'm not interested in the job. Small talk is really hard for someone with Autism. Been looking for 9 months and still haven't been able to land a job despite having the Comptia trifecta.
