Your channel appeared in my youtube very spontaneously and I am very thankful to it. I am an artist from Russia, we have tones of snow this winter. I am quite far from ranch life but have horse riding as a hobby in my spare time. Your videos are gorgeous and very informative and interesting to watch. Also that's very cute when you teach your kids many important stuff. And of course the pretty horses and cows around 🤗 Thank you very much for the all the beauty in the videos 🌾🌻🌱

Interesting video. Here in Michigan we had the same type of weather. Our December was above average temperatures the whole month. Back to normal now. Never thought about black bears in a water tank but I can see that now!

We had a great fall also! We didn’t have to start feeding until almost the middle of December which is pretty late for here. I just said Mother Nature was being nice after what she put us through last winter haha

I also found your channel through Dwayne. I love the content you both put out. We live in Rapid. Just moved here a year ago from Minnesota to get to freedom. Love what you are doing. Keep the videos coming. I’d love to volunteer to help with some projects you may have. I’m retired but not dead yet.

I’m happy I stayed up to watch your video. We do have a beautiful country. Your video is very interesting. I live in Southern California. Not a cow around here. Further North there are ranches. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year! Stay healthy and always grateful for what you have.

Maybe a dumb question. Could you dissolve a salt block in one of their water supplies? Might get two birds with one stone, bringing down the freezing point of the water and helping get their minerals at the same time.

Happy New Year to you and your family from NW Montana! We are getting the same type of winter as you and we are way up in the mountains, it's unreal how warm it has been. I've not seen anything like this before since moving here. It's going to make for a tough fire season next year if we don't get more snow. We have the same issues with bears in our stock tanks in summer, we get young moose in them as well as both grizzly and black bears. The young moose are murder on our wood(split rail or 2x6) fences though, the moms are big enough to step over but the young ones tear through them. Do you ground your tanks? I have found that the GFCI will trip faster and not even tickle the horses or cows when a heater shorts if the tank is grounded but when not grounded sometimes they would get a snap when the GFCI tripped. I have also found that buying cheap lower amperage GFCIs never pays off, they always end up needing replaced so often you actually spend more than if you get a decent higher amperage outdoor GFCI to begin with like what you seem to have purchased.

Thanks for watching! My opinion is that, in my area, a small working ranch would be from 0-5000 acres, medium would be 5000-15000, and large would be 15000+ acres… we would fall into the “medium” or “average” category. Hope this helps!

Climate warming is nice at first but what if every year gets warmer without the snow and rain needed for the land and livestock?
