How to farm the Voidtalon of the Dark Star in 2024!

Man that's rough.. I once saw the Timelost Proto Drake back in Wrath and didn't know it drops a mount (and is super rare) so I just ignored it I mean, I got the mount a few years later, but it wasn't my proudest hour :D

Oh, good I thought I was the only idiot who did that. I saw mine in while questing in Talador, thought it was queuing me into a strange scenario and being at low level for the expansion just knew I would be slaughtered. Now knowing what it truly was I too have been kicking myself for years.

ty for the guide, got it in around 1,5-2 days of logging in with 2 different alts (approx 10-15 logins) and got it early in the morning today. want to note that you need to be level 17 to learn the mount so you might want to passively level your camping alts to 17 as you log them to check the spots.

I got the mount in Frostfire Ridge during WoD, I was reading an article about how this is one of the rares mounts in the game and the article had the potential spawns, I went to the closest and the portal was there, this was the second most luck I had in WOW in almost 20 years

ahahaha.. ok so... saw this video and was like "hmm, i should start searching for that mount again". flew out to smv to start my search (i tend to fly to every spawn location) well low and be-fricking-hold the portal is at the first spot i checked.. like holy crap! lol

yo, when i enter the dark portal from blasted lands i do not skip the intro. why not?

Actually I have no Idea, it worked for me several times. Perhaps try removing the Quest from your questlog before going inside, just an Idea though

worked for me and got the mount on the first char i tried. you can't fly through the portal like shown in the video, you have to land and walk through.

@@GarroshTV Maybe you have to do it once. I did it once and on my 2nd farmchar I've removed the Quest and flew through the portal with chromi time and it worked.

Works now. i abandoned the quest and walked (not fly) through the portal. nmot sure what made the difference, but it worked.
