I made some chicken and rice for my dog she ate the next day she won’t go near it 😭 the only thing I can get her to eat regularly is a boiled egg I’m at my whitts end with her being a picky eater I’m worried she’ll be ill and her pups x

I have a picky Yorkie last litter she almost died had to get IV at the vet they told us to add half a tums to her food and that kept her functioning this was after she had the pups and was feeding them I would add the tums if I were you when the litter arrives to be safe they need the calcium in it badly if they eat picky

Interesting. My vet said to NOT give calcium supplements as it can actually prevent the body from releasing calcium from the bones which will increase hypocalcemia. Can you help me to understand why you think this supplement is important?

I think you need to ask another vet, as if you don't follow the size chart then you can overdose and calcium supplements asap.

Another great video. I have used Iams before I forgot that they are top of the line. I’m curious to know what are your thoughts on some breeders just feeling their dogs a raw diets. I like bully breeds by the way pitbulls my favorite. But I’m a all around dog/ animal person

I love your vids, I'm collecting the information, doing the reaserch and in a few years will breed a litter of my own 😄 I do have a question, I've seen quite a few videos of dogs giving birth and some breeders tie the umbilical (i think that's how they're called in english) cords, is that necesary? Also, what about calcium between the puppies? I'd love a video of what to do on dog birth :D

I'm looking into the calcium supplement you recommended. In reading the descriptions and particularly the first comment says not to give it to a pregnant dog just a lactating dog. I'm interested in a video on prenatal care for my mama dog. Is there any special diet or things that I need to do before we get pregnant? I assume the mama needs to be wormed, I also assume they need to be up-to-date on shots which is to be expected. How soon does all of that happen prior to conception?

Great question! We start her on calcium the day the pups are born. Her milk production will need that extra calcium as will her recovery period. We keep her on it for at least 10 weeks following whelping day.

Quite normal. That’s what this video is about! Her dietary requirements change when she’s making puppies and later feeding them. She needs extra calcium during this time. 2 tablets a day is fine with the ones we use wile she’s nursing pups. Here’s a link amzn.to/3aqKk7g

That doesn’t sound like too much. I guess it would depend on what kind of dog you have generally speaking pregnant females eat smaller meals more often because they’re running out of stomach space. The fact that she’s eating is a good thing your vet knows your dog better than anyone really it’s always OK to ask them. 👍

We don't. In fact we don't give a pregnant female any medications unless our Vet wants us to for something specific and under his supervision. Great question!

You certainly can if you choose. I’ve considered it. When I look at time, resources, consistency and process…for me a routine that includes a quality kibble is a better fit.
